[edit]

Regarding this edit, the MAST homepage uses the term optical: ... scientifically related data sets in the optical, ultraviolet, and near-infrared parts of the spectrum. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:30, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Could add

[edit]

Could add :

  • a history : proposal, funding, set-up
  • Why the focus on Space Telescopes ? Why/When Pan-STARRS data included ?
  • Any data held from ground observatories apart from Pan-STARRS ?
  • Any use by non-US groups - apart from NASA collaborators eg ESA
  • How much data it holds, eg from completed missions like Kepler/K2, and ongoing missions like HST, TESS,
  • How much is raw data, and how much is processed
  • What plans to cope with high data volumes from JWST, WFIRST etc
