No COI

[edit]

As I am known to work in the comics industry, I recognize that there may be concern that I have a COI with regard to the subject. To the best of my recollection, the only time I've talked to her and the only time I've done any business with her was buying a zine off of her at a San Diego Comic-Con probably a decade back. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 00:36, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IDF in lede

[edit]

@Zinderboff: I understand that, for a typical author, their military service might not be lede-worthy. However, given that the work that brought her to attention was about her IDF experience, and given that the recent controversy surrounding her which adds significantly to her notability was based on her IDF history, it seems of reasonable import in this case. Really, we should have more on her going to Israel and her time in service there, it's just that the sources that I have on it don't qualify by our RS standards. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 17:34, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NatGertler Those are some fair points, I just discovered her through her works so didn't know much about the military side of things until I read the news. In this case should the lead case include about the whole controversy? Because on itself the military bit feels out of place. What do you think? Thanks! I've taken a pass on putting in the intro showing its relevance. At this point, I think the article is show sort that we don't need to put much more in the intro. (Also, this particular controversy is so fresh that it's a biut hard to say its import in the long term.) -- Nat Gertler (talk) 17:59, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
