RfC: name change

[edit]

This team is officially referred to by the All Blacks and British and Irish Lions on their websites as the NZ Provincial Barbarians [1][2] I feel this article's name should be changed to reflect this. TGB13 (talk) 18:35, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think this team, the New Zealand Barbarians, are different from the NZ Provincial Barbarians that played the Lions. I understand they were more a scratch team, and not the full representative side of this club? Perhaps the page could be moved to New Zealand Barbarian Rugby Club. That would make a lot of sense, and I was thinking that too while researching. However, the badges are the same, which leads me to believe they could be the same club. Also, on this page: https://www.lionsrugby.com/opposition/nz-barbarians/ they are referred to as the same club, and that is by the Lions themselves. The Lions also refer to this website: http://www.allblacks.com/Teams/Barbarians as the official website of the NZ Barbarians. So maybe they are one in the same club? The Club's page [1] includes the Lions match in "upcoming events" but otherwise doesn't seem to mention it. The Provincial Barbarians didn't include any current Super Rugby players, where as a 'normal' Barbarians side would be a lot stronger, eg[2]. Mattlore (talk) 03:35, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
