Politics section

[edit]

I removed the link and references to Mike Bell's website. These are all POV from a prospective parliamentary candidate and are not suitable encyclopaedic content. At the same time I removed the Politics section which simply served as a vehicle for promoting the Liberal Democrats. Please discuss here rather than simply revert my edits. --Cheesy Mike 16:31, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of the Politics section makes this rather devoid of information about local government. This probably should not come from the local council's website apart from basic facts because much of that will be written from the POV of the current administration and almost as poor a reference as Mike Bell's personal site. I'll see if I see something on my travels. AaronJumper (talk) 19:05, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

West Hill

[edit]

Walton in Gordano, West Wick, West Hill, West End, West Hewish...

Is this WEST HILL the road in Portishead, or am i being stupid? Tube Geek 77 (talk) 22:17, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Looking at Google Maps, it appears that you're right, West Hill is a road in Portishead, not its own place in North Somerset. I shall remove it. Mojo0306 (talk) 17:27, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ridgeway?

[edit]

@Steinsky Where is the ridgeway that forms a boundary with North Somerset? I cannot find any references to it. 10mmsocket (talk) 20:28, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, just logged back in and got this, hadn't realised I'd been logged out so long! I was about to say "I don't know, I only reverted the edit because the edit summary appeared to mistake ridgeways with The Ridgeway trail -- you'd have to ask the person who originally added it to the article". But then I looked at the edit history and discovered that it was me who originally added it to the article! That was 2 decades ago, so I have no memory of doing it or why I did so. A quick search does back up the existence of a Mendip Ridgeway, but nothing I can see referencing its exact location. I'll get the books out when I'm home and see what I can find.
