Sun 24th. January 2016 I posted information as to the history of Old Connaught House. I am fortunate enough to live and own an apartment at the self same Old Connaught House. The text was written for the Festina Lente Foundation and the CEO of same gave me her blessing to use the text. We are next-door neighbours. Guess what? We know each other and get on! I also posted three photographs of Old Connaught House which I photographed myself and I have the original files.

For a reason I do not understand my work was deleted overnight and I received a rather aggressive message from someone called RolandR informing me that I had broken Copyright. He deleted my contribution and informed me that my ability to Edit pages might be revoked. I only became a member of Wikipedia yesterday so it was like a case of Welcome, Now Fuok Off!

I thought Wikipedia might be a nice place to write and contribute my photographs.

Where I live if someone doesn't do something the way they are supposed to, they are offered help. I am very disappointed that that does not seem to be the case on Wikipedia.

I would like to contribute constructively to this page/topic. Could someone help me please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oldconnaught (talkcontribs)

Hello. I would like to post reliable information about Old Connaught House.

I began living at Old Connaught House in 2008 when I rented an apartment. In January 2013 I bought an apartment here. From the outset I knew that the House was of note and had a history. I heard names and they didn't mean much to me. In the intervening years I have learned the importance of the names Plunket, Grattan, Markievicz and Pearse. I would like to use the collective work of others, with their permission, along with my own photography to tell of the history of Old Connaught House and its owners.

I apologise if in the past I was ham-fisted in my Editing. I am new here and while I respect rules I like them to be shoved in my face as if I were a child. I am as innocent as one in my endeavours!

Onwards and upwards please. How may I add text and photographs and podcasts and video to the Wikipedia page for Old Connaught House? I will be very grateful even if I haven't figures out how to reply to messages yet. To all those who sent messages - Thank You!

Micheál

History Project: Old Connaught House

[edit]

I have worked to collect information about the history of the Estate of Old Connaught for the past few weeks. I have found reference dating back to Norman times, The Knights Templar and up to the purchase of the Estate by Lord William Connyngham Plunket. For that and every transaction of the Lands and House after that, I have a hard copy of the original Deeds. As a resident of the modern Old Connaught House t is my hope to publish a website and book later this year. Oldconnaught (talk) 20:33, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
