Adding peer review request by User:Gamesmasterg9. -- Ganeshk (talk) 14:46, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  1. The lead section is very short.
  2. The section on 'Recent history' can be widened to a large extent, also no mention of the controversy regarding UGC grants to the college and enhanced academic status.
  3. Also the 'Departments' section links to the subjects in general and not college specific info.
  4. 'Presy culture' is intimately linked with the hostels, yet only one line is devoted to the topic, this needs to be looked into.
  5. Reference section should be introduced for verifiability of info.

You can take cue from other Featured Articles of the same type like Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur etc.

Presidency College, KolkataPresidency University, Kolkata — The Presidency College Kolkata was reccently elevated to the status of a University, to reflect the changes it is essential to move the page. As the Presidency University already exist it is requested to move the page to Presidency University, Dhaka. Create a disambiguation page in Presidency University page Amartyabag TALK2ME 15:11, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Presidency UniversityPresidency University, Dhaka
  • Oppose for now - Although the law was passed in March 2010, the actual establishing of the university is taking some tiime. According to the Times the university only formally came into existence on July 23, so we need to give time for the new name to become more used. The Telegraph says they have until October 7 to appoint the first vice-chancellor. The institution's own website still uses "Presidency College", so in my mind it is still a university on paper at the moment.
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Vandalism of this article

[edit]

Please note that this page has been vandalised and contains many inaccuracies that amount to slander. Some of the references are to blogs and websites that put forward the opinions of some individuals. Please remove such controversial content and restore the objectivity that any encyclopaedia article should exhibit. This is an appeal to the Wikipedia Community. Please do not sully the reputation that Wikipedia is beginning to develop in Indian academic circles by allowing such unreliable information to be displayed.

One is not aware which member of the university administration has been contacted and if so what documentary proof of such contact has been established. Moreover, comments such as 'Hence all corruptions are tucked away under the cupboard' cannot be construed as anything but misinformation and as being written in a subjective style that does not befit an encyclopaedia article. Also, the comment, ' but funnily enough the university is only 4 years old, started in 2010 hence misguiding the larger illiterate population of India' is wrong as the although Presidency College has become a university recently, its academic traditions go back to the very outset of Western higher education in India. Once again, my appeal is to all Wikipedians to please refrain from such acts of misinformation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Souvikm1 (talkcontribs) 17:57, 25 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

List of Principals

[edit]

Re the note about who makes the list, I think that this is a case of WP:BIAS where all of the names should theoretically have articles per WP:NACADEMICS as leaders of a major educational institution and just our sources dont make that practically possible at this time. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:33, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
