Merger proposal

[edit]

Hi! I found a duplicated page (not really found as it's linked to, from here). Looks like a breakaway faction trying to do its own thing. But it's not notable enough to have a standalone article. It is an article about a single event attended by 400 people, that's listed here. I think it should be merged and redirected to this article. I also find it troubling, that an alt-name of this article is a standalone article. It might cause content duplication in the long run, and waste volunteer effort. ===Don't merge===

  • I support with not merging because the page proposed to merge with this is a broader page. Nepal is observing different pride parades in a year. This page is about one particular pride parade while the proposed merge page is a broader page about all the pride parades. Merging these pages would create a confusion with the nomenclatures such as Nepal Pride Parade means a particular event while Pride Parades in Nepal include many pride parades. Other pride parades cannot be brought under the umbrella. Moreover the citations show that this is the first of such event in the country and probably will have more in coming years. मेख्ली डोल्मा (talk) 15:16, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge, per the nominator, keeping a separate section for Nepal Pride Parade so that it can differentiated from the broader topic. The concept is new enough that there is as yet no need to split the parades. Klbrain (talk) 17:01, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
