Why has so much information been removed? It was all relevant, detailing how the castle has changed over the years. Also, it seems slightly awkward to lump Mario 64 and 64 DS into one section when, as far as the castle is concerned, it has changed a lot, and the plot is totally different. I know that gameplay-wise the DS game is a remake, but as this article is supposed to be about the castle itself, not gameplay, the differences are sufficient enough to merit a mention. Actually, I was sorely tempted to just put all the deleted information back, but I thought I'd check what the people responsible think, in case I've overlooked an aspect of Wikipedia policy or something.

You're probably talking about my edit on 18 Dec 2005. I removed a lot of information of this sort:
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
The castle never appeared on screen in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, but sometimes Peach would sing the first few notes of the castle interior's music from "Super Mario 64" whilst in the shower.
Mario Power Tennis
Again, the castle did not actually appear in Mario Power Tennis, but a fast, up-beat remix of its music was used for the paintball minigame.
We don't need paragraphs explaining how the castle isn't in a game. If I removed anything you feel should be in the article, we can discuss it here. --Pagrashtak 23:22, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, now you've explained that, I agree; they are just references to the castle and probably don't belong here. What I'm really objecting too is the fact that you did not simply "remove" information but changed a lot, at the expense of some of the original accuracy. I present my objections in greater detail below:

1). Saying that a similar looking building appeared in MKDD is not the same as saying it was in the game, which it wasn't. If you've played the game, you must have noticed that, whilst much of the architecture and paintwork is identical, the two buildings can't possibly be one and the same because they are just too different. They're in completely different locations, for one thing. One could conceivably argue that Nintendo aren't known for their consistency, but if you look at all the castle's other appearences in games, it has always looked pretty much the same, whilst this building is a totally different shape. It only has one floor, the door looks totally different, it has no moat, etc. It was only included on this page as a reference, much in the way that the MPT and PMTTYD paragraphs mentioned above are. I thought it was of note, but perhaps it should be deleted too, to avoid confusion; it definitely shouldn't be referred to as the castle as that is total misinformation.

2). My other objection is to the merging of SM64's and the DS remake's paragraphs. Whilst the games include the same levels and gameplay, the storylines are not the same. More relevant to this page is the fact that the castle is different in the two games. The games may be similar from the point of view of the person playing them, but this article is about the castle, and as far as it's concerned, there were quite a few changes made.

I looked back at my edit and I did accidentally add some content to the MK:DD!! section. I don't remember the building off hand, it's been a while since I played Double Dash!! I've removed the section — if it's not Peach's castle, it doesn't need to be mentioned.
As for SM64 DS, if you wanted to split off a section saying a little about how the castle changed from the orginal SM64, that would probably be OK, as long the information presented is more about the castle than the gameplay (a problem with the version I edited). --Pagrashtak 13:50, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is Peach's castle in MKDD, there are multiple internet sources which say this, Including the official site [1] [2]. Unfortunately it is impossible to link to the exact reference, but both can be found in the Mario Circuit description. The content of source 2 must be unlocked; the password is bowser. change of the castle

[edit]

in every mario game, the castle has many looks! in super mario 64 ds, it had a bridge and a moat, in mario kart ds on the mario course, it was on water, in the peach's garden level, it was on the ground!

Merge proposal

[edit]

Most of this information can be condensed into a few sentences. As there is so little "appropriate" info it should be merged into the Mushroom Kingdom#Locations as was Toad Town. If no one objects in 24 hours I will procede with the merge.→041744 13:50, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
