Questionable

[edit]

I would question the assertion that there are multiple checkpoints. When I went south on a tour bus last year, we only stopped at one, which was very perfunctory. Whatever tank traps there might be aren't obvious. The highway is not highly militarised as implied in this article.--Jack Upland (talk) 01:58, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reunification HighwayPyongyang–Kaesong Motorway – Highway Name is no longer "Reunification Highway" in Korea. Fundamental shift in policy towards the South from the North "makes reunification impossible" (from the DPRK Perspective) and subsequently assumes references to reunification will be nullified. Tentative support. Is there even a corresponding Korean term for "Reunification Highway"? The Kowiki, namuwiki, and the jawiki don't seem to have any mention of such any terms with similar meaning. Maybe an English-exclusive name? Is it even actually the English WP:COMMONNAME? toobigtokale (talk) 16:49, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Current title does not fit WP:COMMONTERM and even creates inappropriate confusions with sense-to-sense translation of existing famous South Korean road 'Tongil-ro [ko]' (Korean통일로; lit. Reunification road). After implementing current requested move, we should consider redirecting the page 'Reunification Highway' to 'Tongil-ro [ko]' -- SCMBD (talk) 04:08, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also clarifying question out of curiosity; did the NK policy change really explicitly involve renaming this highway, or is this a theory? Was it ever officially named such in English? toobigtokale (talk) 08:52, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
