Would you like to talk about it more in depth here so we can resolve this. We know the photo was correct because Al-Hazmi, (Salem's father) said that the published photos of his two sons may be doctored or faked somehow. Also the hijackers used their real names and he claims his passport wasn't stolen. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5594385

Any chance at a birthdate? Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 13:21, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, quick question because I think I may have been the one to actually edit in (The two may not have been actual brothers, although they claimed they were.) , although now I can't find my own reference for that, and it seems to me it should have one. Any help would be great Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 11:18, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

File:Alhazmi alive.JPGFile:Alhazmi released by FBI.JPG Again two pictures which origins are unclear. They say they're from the FBI, but I see no source. --Sloane 19:25, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am brand new to wikipedia, i just joined because i have a distinct feeling that the people who choose to believe that the september 11 attack was some kind of "false flag" operation have decided to sabotage the information about the hijackers, mostly that some are still alive. I know the photo on the left was used as evidence in the moussaoui trial (other images of it have that telltale yellow sticker) the other one i have only seen from websites which also use the dubious three pictures series of majed moqued and al midhar http://s3.amazonaws.com/911timeline/main/essaykhalidandnawaf.html and http://americanassembler.com/911/timeline/911_dec2001.htm. i apologize if i havent formatted this in the appropriate style for wikipedia as i just joined 5 minutes ago. if you could give me some pointers that would help, i am very intent on stopping the conspiracy theorists from sabotaging any of the information which is not verifiable from direct evidence. i assume that there is a better way to write in this than to just edit the page, again i apologize for any mistakes-Karl Karl Johannes

GA sweeps (delisted)

[edit]

In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of October 5, 2007, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.

The reasons:

The article claims a lot without citing any sources. Few citations, which are present in the article violate Wikipedia:Embedded_citations, because I can not find the full citations for them in the reflist. In addition, three of four refs in the reflist are weblinks without information about titles, dates, authors etc. Ruslik 10:18, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

God knows

[edit]

The two pictures are clearly not the same person, unless they've had plastic surgery. In one, the earlob ends about equal to the end of the nose. In the other, it's close to the middle of bridge of the nose. Are the photos meant to demonstrate the photos are doctored, and these are two different people?

Orphaned references in Salem al-Hazmi

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Salem al-Hazmi's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 17:06, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First entry to the U.S

[edit]

The current article states:

According to the FBI and the 9/11 Commission report, al-Hazmi first entered the United States on June 29, 2001,

No further reference is given. I have searched the 911 Report for the word 'Salem' and I can find no reference to the June 29 flight being his first entry, though it is confirmed that he arrived on this date. (Note 114, page 528). If no further source is provided, I will remove the word 'first' - Crosbiesmith (talk) 11:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsequent attributions

[edit]

This entry demonstrates arbitrariness in presenting facts. In some cases, weasel words are used to qualify the factual assertions. In other cases, propositions are made in a definite manner. There is no apparent system in doing so.

1. In the introductory section Salem al-Hazmi is described as one of five men "named .... by the FBI" as hijackers of AA77. 2. The next sentence, however, resorts to the affirmative, claiming that he "was" the youngest hijacker "who participated" in the attacks. 3. In the next paragraph it is claimed (without citation) that he was "selected for the 9/11 attacks" (by whom, when?) 4. In the next sentence he is claimed to have "helped subdue the passengers and crew for Hani Hanjour", without providing a citation. 5. Under the section "In the United States", the first sentence begins with a weasel word "According to". 6. Then there is the reference to "unconfirmed reports". What is meant by that? 7. While the claim that al-Hazmi boarded AA77 (Section "The Attacks") was equally made by the FBI, it is not assorted by "According to the FBI" as above. It is presented as an undisputed fact, which it certainly is not, for the simple reason that no evidence has been produced for this claim and because even the FBI is not certain, to this date, about the identities of the "hijackers" (see FBI PENTTBOM website).

I suggest that only undisputed facts be presented as definite facts. All others should be qualified. sannleikur (talk) 10:05, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Youngest 9/11 terrorist

[edit]

If all biographical dates in the artices on the 19 attackers are correct, Salem al-Hazmi was the youngest of them. May be worth mentioning. Proofreader (talk) 17:50, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
