Regarding The POVS

[edit]

There are some parts with no significant values that have been added by a user with specific political motivation. It is against Wiki codes to have POV, or materials that glorify a certain family or has political motivation behind it rather than truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.125.249.166 (talk) 05:33, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those parts were not of no significant value. The people of the city of Semnan vote conservatively and are very much in general in favor of their government. I don't think it's a crime to mention the political leanings of the people. This can be seen in almost every article written about United States cities that mention whether city tends to vote Democratic or Republican. Furthermore, I was not glorifying any family by mentioning the Shariatpanahi family. If you look at other articles for other Iranian cities, you'll see that they have an entire section labeled as Notable Resiedents. I did not have enough names to put in the list, which is why I just made a quick mention.Semani shopiyir (talk) 17:39, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Any additional comments:

I request to move Semnan, Iran to Semnan because:

If this move goes ahead, then afterwards there should be an "otheruses" at the top of this page for Semnān Province, and Semnan_(disambiguation) can be deleted. Sam Staton (talk) 17:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not necessarily - there is also Semnan County that could be added to the dab, although it is a stub. Dekimasuよ! 04:32, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Persian wikipedia references

[edit]

There are many improper references from the Persian wikipedia. If anyone can replace them with proper references, great. Otherwise, I'll probably replace them with {{cn}} or something similar. TimBentley (talk) 18:42, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Religious Intolerance Against Baha'is

[edit]

Can the person who wrote about the discrimination and religious intolerance against Baha'is cite an actual link to the source? It just says United Nations report and there is no way to verify the information. Please support the claims with a link. I feel that such strong accusations against the municipal government and clergy should be removed until the information is verified. I also suggest that, after verification, the information goes under a specific subtitle called Intolerance Against Baha'is or something of the like and not placed under the general info of Religion. Semnan, Iran -> Semnan

[edit]

Many provinces and counties in Iran share the same name as their capital, but yet the page of their capital doesn't have Iran after it. Such as with Isfahan, Isfahan province and Isfahan County, Kerman, Kerman province and Kerman County, Kermanshah, Kermanshah province and Kermanshah County to name a few. I don't see any reason why it should be different for Semnan and Semnan only. There are other pages that have Iran after it but in those istances it's because there's something else that share's its name such as with Arak, Iran and Arak (drink) and Sari, Iran and Sari (woman's garment). Semnan is the only istance where it has Iran after it because it shares the same name as its county and province. Thomas Norren (talk) 10:51, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
