Dude the reason why there’s no synopsis is because when you put your synopsis in it remove the section so I remove yours so that’s why there’s no synopsis Mrhottdogg55 (talk) 16:32, 17 September 2022 (UTC)

Is Smile a psychological or supernatural film? Technically, it's psychological, but the supernatural part is a major plot point.

the Smile Entity is definitely supernatural, but it has psychological points, like feeding on trauma. any one up for a debate? Klee Bakudan (talk) 22:54, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Very End

The description says Joel smiled. I just saw the movie, and Joel just looked in horror as Rose set herself on fire, but there was no smile at all, just a look of horror. Then the credits played. DesertDonna52 (talk) 06:07, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

It was added on February 28 by an anonymous editor. I've reverted it. Mike Allen 06:45, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

Similarities to The Outsider

Am surprised there isn’t many articles comparing Smile to the miniseries, The Outsider m, as presented on HBO. Dcsutherland (talk) 17:49, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Controversy

There have been numerous accounts attributing the creation of the Smile plot, characters, and creature to Quinn DeLuna during a lecture at Chapman University Film School in 2012. 2600:1012:B1C3:F954:1C8B:14C9:2D97:9739 (talk) 01:08, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

Plot section

I hope the IP that keeps reverting me sees this. Plot summaries on Wikipedia are supposed to be concise, neutral descriptions of the basic story beats, with minimal redundancy. The version you keep reverting to has redundancies and unnecessary detail. Let me compare two versions for you and spell out exactly what I'm doing, and maybe you'll understand the logic:

  • This convinces Rose that she has fallen victim to a curse, she tries to tell her fiancé Trevor whats been happening to her but he doesn't listen, believing she has gone crazy.

In this version, we are spelling out that she tells Trevor, he doesn't listen, and finally, that he thinks she's crazy. But we don't need to spell all of that out. Our readers are pretty smart, most of the time. When we say Trevor thinks Rose has gone crazy, most people will understand that that means that Trevor is not listening to the things Rose is saying, and does not believe her. If he was listening and believed her, he wouldn't think she was crazy. So all we need to say to explain the situation is this:

  • This convinces Rose that she has fallen victim to a curse, although her fiancé Trevor believes she has gone crazy.

Similarly, we don't need the additional detail of exactly what Rose said to Holly. All we need for the plot is to see that Rose's support network is crumbling: Holly doesn't believe Rose, and Rose thinks Holly abandoned her, so there's obviously something going on with their mom that hasn't been said yet. ♠PMC(talk) 19:05, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
