Sound energy 143.44.145.16 (talk) 04:39, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is this even a topic?

[edit]

It is based on a single reference which itself is (only) an engineers handbook. Sound and Energy are physics concepts, fully supported by many scholarly textbooks. This article references none of them and appears to only exist to support an entry in the Energy page.

As a graduate physicist I seriously query the validity of the idea that sound energy has any kinetic energy component: Sound transmission in any medium, be it solid, liquid or gas contains no mass transfer and no momentum, both of which are essential for the existence of Kinetic energy.

I recommend that this Article be removed permanently. Gpsanimator (talk) 07:22, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
