Wine auction

[edit]

Not worthy of comment in the main article, but perhaps of interest to passing researchers, might be a wine auction “of The Very Valuable Stock of 4,800 Dozens of Fine Old Wines, The Property of A Wine Merchant Retiring from Business, And Sold in consequence of the Premises being pulled down; the whole selected with well-known judgement during the last 20 Years: which Will be Sold by Auction, by Messrs. Christie, Manson & Woods, On The Premises, 19, Southampton Street, Bloomsbury, On Tuesday, May 31, 1864, And Two following Days”. (My picture 18003.)
