Because of the sheer size of the article (115,477 bytes), I propose to split this article into two: Sport in Cardiff, being the actual sports events and Stadia and venues in Cardiff being the sporting venues.

What are your thoughts? SethWhales talk 20:20, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objection to splitting the article. The title for the venues article would need to change, though. There are no article titles beginning "Stadia and venues in ..." There must be some articles on the subject, but I couldn't find them. Any ideas? Daicaregos (talk) 20:43, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose the title would be "Sport Venues in Cardiff" - there are a couple of those, but not many, as not even London has split it off? - Happysailor (Talk) 20:55, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The only article beginning "Sport Venues in ..." is Romania, and that's a redirect. If there are no others perhaps there is a reason. Cardiff can't be the most extensively researched/listed place on earth. Can it? :) Daicaregos (talk) 21:07, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter if there's no existing article starting with "Stadia and venues in ..." . There's always one article that starts it off. There is a List of stadiums in Wales by capacity though. I'd support a move to "Stadia and venues in Cardiff" without the word sport, rather than "Sport venues in Cardiff" because although their main function in for sport, they are very frequently used for concerts, festivals, conferences, exhibitions etc. etc. and one could add non-sporting venues. Also I'd avoid the wording "List of..." as it would be written in prose rather than list form due to the sheer amount of information.Welshleprechaun 07:45, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So...is there a proposal? ...Can I propose Stadia and theatres in Cardiff, which would also include venues such as the New Theatre (Cardiff), Wales Millennium Centre, Sherman Cymru and the existing venues in Sport in Cardiff. Please indicate "Support" or "Oppose" (with another suggestion)....thanks. SethWhales talk 08:46, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest "Sport and music venues in Cardiff"? That would include all the theatres as they have all hosted gigs. Daicaregos (talk) 18:30, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We already have such a list: List of cultural venues in Cardiff Welshleprechaun 19:06, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't suggesting we pare down most of the sport stadia information to create a 'List of ...'. Are you proposing we merge the two? Daicaregos (talk) 21:18, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this proposal still live? Daicaregos (talk) 07:25, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
