latest generation of the venerable Dvora family

[edit]

??... That's the lead sentence. But I can't find a link to other Dvoras. Suggest that if there are a lot of these, a category would be useful, and in any case, a link to the class description. ++Lar: t/c 14:17, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually this is the lateset or the third member of Dovora family. First member was Dvora[1] and then Super Dvora Mk II[2], finally Super Dvora Mk III[3]. Since there is only three sub classes I think there is no need for a separate category. Cheers. --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie | tool box 03:42, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, no problem, no category needed, it's too small. BUT... there is no way to get to the other boats from this article. That seems off. Consider a see also or a nav template... "in any case, a link to the class description" as I said. I can help you make a nav template if you think that's the way to go. ++Lar: t/c 04:52, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. How about like this one, Sri Lanka Light Infantry#Order of Precedence? --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie | tool box 05:00, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That one seems to be linked to a list so it may be overkill. Let me see what I can do though, take a look and see what you think... ++Lar: t/c 05:26, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Umm its seems okay to me, but if we can do something more than this it would be great. Let me know if you have any ideas and I will do the same too. Thanks :) Happy Editing!!! --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie | tool box 05:36, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the ship info box seems to have predecessor and successor fields so maybe this navbox is redundant. ++Lar: t/c 16:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah you are correct but I think that navbox give more picture about the Dvora family than the infobox. I'll remove those fields now. Cheers. --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie | tool box 09:31, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

armor?

[edit]

Superstructure looks armored. General appearance and size of wheelhouse windows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.171.240.227 (talk) 15:46, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Generally small patrol vessels like this are not described as armored. I assumed that they were not armored.

I recently read about some vessels built for service in Nigeria's offshore oil platforms, for private contractors. There are relatively heavily armed pirates in the area, so Nigeria allows the vessels that bring crew to and from the oil platforms to be militarized. One of the articles about these militarized private vessels said that their bridges were protected from small arms fire, as was a passenger compartment.

I see this as confirming my general impression that vessels like this generally aren't armored. Geo Swan (talk) 08:26, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

crew size...

[edit]

I don't see the article saying anything about the size of the crew...

The USCG's slightly larger, but less well armed, Marine Protector cutters employ a crew of ten. Geo Swan (talk) 08:30, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
