enemies?

[edit]

You know there could be a possibility that Bowser Jr. could return with like the help of Tatanga because Bowser Jr. said this someday when I'm bigger, I want to fight that Mario again! Is this possible? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.187.144.21 (talk) 19:26, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Sure, anything's possible. I just don't think it's worthy of being put in the article. Masternimbus 19:26, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not trying to prove you wrong or anything but when did Bowser Jr. say "someday when I'm bigger I want to fight Mario again"?--Kondrayus 22:19, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why are pokey's listed here? They weren't in the E3 demo and don't really make a lot of sense in space... Unless someone knows why this is here is should be removed.

Bowser jr could be in this game unless this game happens before super mario sunshineSonicrules2 14:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Sonicrules2[reply]

In a Super Mario Galaxy screenshot it showed Mario jumping with a Goomba and a pokey. --Pezzar 04:18, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bowser jr. has already appeared in New Super Mario Bros. --88.130.125.25 08:50, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

False Canadian Release Date

[edit]

It says that the release date in Canada is March 30, 2007, and the link is from the Canadian best buy site. I dont think that this is a good enough source of information as Best Buy is not a very reliable source of info. MakeDamnSure 19:49, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is just like for Sonic and the Secret Rings; the bulletin board at Future Shop announced it to be March 1st and the official release date has recently been revealed to be February 20th. It's not a very reliable source, really. Knuckles sonic8 20:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date Information

[edit]

Says the release date is May 12, 2007... I'm not saying it's impossible, but could we get a citation? Super Spike 02:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just heard that we're not going to see it until around christmas. zabbethx

AFAIK, Nintendo have not named a date yet, and they would know. Geoff B 16:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo has announced the game will be released November 12, 2007

Which game comes first??

[edit]

Which game will be released first, Super Mario Galaxy or Super Paper Mario?? Georgia guy 21:07, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely Super Paper Mario... --TheGreenLink 23:22, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SPM, considering it's been revealed to release in April. Knuckles sonic8 20:41, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Super Paper Mario... confirmed!--TheGreenLink 17:44, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Q2 2007?

[edit]

How is the release date Q2 2007? I know it's possible, but Nintendo and other reliable sources haven't confirmed the relase date. David Fei 20:32, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's impossible now. Nintendo released dates for all Q2 titles and Galaxy wasn't on there (along with Brawl, Metroid, and many others). DarthJango42 03:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Claimed Release

[edit]

Electronic Gaming Monthly claims that Super Mario Galaxy will come out this fall (region unknown, most likely US). This is the only source I've seen it. Nintendo Power, the official Nintendo magazine doesn't even say anything about it. Should "It may be released in the fall" or something like that be added, or is it too unreliable? SteveCentra 22:36, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Logo update?

[edit]

I don't know if this is anything new or unusual, but the logo in the new trailer looks different than the one from E3 last year. Has Nintendo released a press image of it? Dancter 22:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Supermariogalaxylogo2.jpg: Not quite what I meant. Dancter 01:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we need someone that will make it transparent for us. Otherwise, we wait for Nintendo to release one. Willy105 01:34, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The video still capture is not a good candidate for that, unfortunately. Dancter 17:31, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

3rd Mario Wii title?

[edit]

We can't be too sure it's the 3rd Mario title for the Wii. Have we forgotten Super Mario Strikers? We don't know if Strikers is coming out before Galaxy, so I think it's best that that be left out. -YoshiRox10 (Can't figure out how to link my profile..)

Classic Controller

[edit]

Is it possible to play this game with the Classic Controller? If so, we should add it. R-RockMan.EXE 03:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty certain it isn't, the pointer and motion-sensing of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk are so strongly incorporated into the gameplay. Even if corresponding controls were functional, such as the control stick, it still wouldn't likely be feasible to actually play the game that way. Dancter 23:16, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's true, you're right. Though it is kinda unfair to disabled people like me... Well, that's not important now. R-RockMan.EXE 03:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No offense, but video games are meant to be fun, not equal. You don't blame the NFL for not hiring people with canes or walkers. -- Phoeba WrightOBJECTION! 11:33, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Locked proposal

[edit]

Too many people are arguing over and keep changing the supposed release date for the game, which some are calling "vandalism". I think that the article should be locked until veriable information is released and the disputes are resolved. --ThomasO1989 17:01, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. But it's better create an article about Galaxy with a different name. It should keep people out of chance of finding the page and changing dates (nice to see you again Thomas).-- Mr. Mario 192 5 April 2007 (UTC)
What is the use of creating a page with the intention of hiding it? Pagrashtak 21:26, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree and think that is would be a bad idea. I also think any attempt to use an alternative page name to reduce vandalism would be flatly rejected. For on thing it would violate policies such as WP:COMMONNAME and WP:NAME. That policy calls for names that are most recnagisable and limitied in its ambiguity. It would also make it much harder for people interested in learning about the game from finding it. If necesaary protection is the better option. --69.156.205.86 03:37, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. But still, if you search the page Mario 128, you will get to the Mario Galaxy page. So, I think we should make the same thing. Mr. Mario 192 19:29, 9 April 2007

That example does not apply to this case. The reason that Mario 128 redirects here is because the page it previously redirercted to Super Mario 128 had a consenus to redirect in an AFD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Super Mario 128. Since that happened Mario 128 redirected here as well. Also if you look at the AFD you will see that the redirection consensus had nothing to do with hiding the page to prevent vandalism. In short, the redirection of Mario 128 to here does not support your position. --67.68.154.253 02:31, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's just insisting that Mario Galaxy is the same thing as Mario 128, and so he's looking for an excuse to create an article called "Super Mario 128" and move this content there. Whether Mario 128 is Mario Galaxy or not doesn't help in preventing people from fighting over release dates. --ThomasO1989 16:18, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese Release Date

[edit]

I'm not sure if this source can be trusted but according to Nintendo Dream, Gamelabo and Famitsu, the game will be released in Japan in October. I'm not sure if we should put the Japanese release date as October 2007, but I think it should maybe be changed. Here's the source for you guys to check out http://www.jeux-france.com/news19962.html -Alegeobla 18:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, Kotaku also said that it was coming October too.Willy105 13:42, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are people on the internet saying they have the new Famitsu and there's nothing like that inside. No scans have surfaced yet and a few of the dates were very suspicious, so I recommend you don't put it up yet. Would be great if it's true of course. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 130.234.206.177 (talkcontribs) 16:44, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Kotaku is getting its information from a forum post. I'll remove it pending a more appropriate source. Dancter 17:00, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said in the SSBB talk page, there's no need to rush on this. We can wait for another source to independently verify what exactly was published in Famitsu. Dancter 18:28, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date

[edit]

It has been said that Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be released between the end of summer to fall. I'm sorry, I don't know how to put the source here. Go to the Super Smash Bros Brawl disscussion page and it'll be there. (Zojo 20:43, 29 April 2007 (UTC))[reply]

For the people that don't want to search through the Brawl article like Zojo suggested, I put the link here. Unknownlight 21:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Logo quality

[edit]

The present logo that is shown in the SMG page is pretty lame. It's all blured, dont you think the image should be reverted to the previous?--eusourei(talk) 18:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No I can see it fine. --Coconutfred73 20:45, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Really?! It's pretty blured!--eusourei(talk) 22:22, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not the best quality, but it's sufficent. If you can get a better one, feel free to upload it and use it instead. Usually copyrighted images have worse resolution on Wikipedia, but promotional images are, as I understand, not bound to thatTuesday42 03:33, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's wha ti'm saying! The last version of the image is best! I'm going to revert it, take a look, if you dont like, revert it back to what it is know!--eusourei(talk) 15:21, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who blanked the page?

[edit]

Who blanked the page????????--YOSHIANDLINK1 21:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if it was "blanked" in the first place it's been fixed. Unknownlight 03:24, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparent vandalism

[edit]

Someone wrote "NOTICE: TO BE RELEASED JUNE 5, 2007!" at the beggining of the page, I deleted it because it isn't appropiate for an encyclopedia and looked like vandalism to me. R-RockMan.EXE 05:20, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Release November 19th

[edit]

I just read on the Main page that this is the date SMG is coming out... is this for real or just a bunch of BS some random ass game store came up with? --TheGreenLink 18:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Answer:Fake.--Scabloo 22:38, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ANSWER:Yes,it was confirmed at E3. JULY 17

Actually the producer said it's coming out on November 12. Unless they backed it up again.--Kondrayus 22:21, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OS

[edit]

Is their a official site for super mario galaxy?

Not yet. --Coconutfred73 17:46, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should this really be here...

[edit]

"There have been rumors that the kidnapper is a brother of Mario's longtime nemesis, Bowser."

Sounds like ridiculous speculation... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.139.149.230 (talkcontribs) 02:59, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it. It was added recently, with no sources cited, and the contributing IP has made some other ill-considered edits. Dancter 03:57, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In the screenshots at Gamespot Bowser is clearly visible, so I think Bowser is the main antagonist.
