Prod Rational

[edit]

Hi Quetzal1964. Could you expand your rational for proposed deletion a bit? I'm not sure what criteria is being cited here. Thanks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 19:07, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Left a note on their talk page. Miniapolis 17:21, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well this seems to be settled. -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:28, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I disagree, the rationale is that it was a monotypic genus in which the sole species Symmorphoides maroccanus has been shown to be synonymous with Eumicrodynerus longicorpus (Ref Gusenleitner 1997, Bestimmungstabellen mittel- und südeuropäischer Eumeniden (Vespoidea, Hymenoptera) Teil 7: Die Gattungen Microdynerus THOMSON 1874 und Eumicrodynerus GUSENLEITNER 1972, Linzer biol. Beitr. 29/2 779-797) although insectoid.info (a secondary source) shows E. longicorpus and E. maroccanus as separate species. I would therefore argue that Symmorphoides only notability is as a junior synonym of Eumicrodynerus. Quetzal1964 07:39, 11 May 2017 (UTC) talk
@Quetzal1964: in which case the answer is not to delete the article, but simply convert it to a redirect and discuss the different taxonomic views in the Eumicrodynerus article. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:50, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Peter coxhead: Will do. Quetzal1964 09:41, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
