Critical background is provided in the German article http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Click_Charity_Donation It would be good to find some one who can translate this excellent stuff.

An approximation is available through Babelfish here. The tricky part is translating it from the poor approximation into real English. I did it once for a different article, so it *is* possible... --Icarus 06:11, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested merge

[edit]

The Rainforest Site appears to be mostly a copy-and-paste of info from here (down to "The Hunger Site" being used in a section lower on the page, instead of "The Rainforest Site"). There is a small amount of info specific to The Rainforest Site that can be merged here, so I propose that we do so and then change that page into a redirect. --Icarus (Hi!) 22:12, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We'd have to find a new name for the merged article. Simply calling it "Hunger Site" wouldn't work if it was about more than one site. ONUnicorn 15:45, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think this is the best idea, for several reasons. Firstly, CharityUSA.com may be the current owner, but it's only the most recent of three owners. Secondly, the resulting article wouldn't actually be about CharityUSA.com, but rather about two websites owned by it, so this would not be the most appropriate name. Finally, this would probably go against the naming convention of using the most commonly used name for the subject matter. --Icarus (Hi!) 04:19, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps The Hunger Site and The Rainforest Site should both be merged into the Click To Donate page? I wrote the Rainforest Site page, and I think a simlar page could be made for the other "Click to donate" sites, and then all of them could be included in the "click to Donate" page. Yikes

[edit]

The more I've looked into this outfit, the less I like them. They haven't disclosed how much they've given to anyone since 2000, except in units of "cups of food" and "square feet of land saved." At least there's a journalist who's willing to say it: each click is probably worth less than a cent. Yet the same journalist endorses the site: "Taking time to click really helps, especially if you do it daily." (Guardian, 17 Dec 2005) I fail to understand how anyone can be consoled by an insignificant sacrifice for an insignificant donation. Whosasking 06:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can I add this site in the external links?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.115.241.5 (talk) 16:01, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. See WP:EL for our external links policy. --Sopoforic 23:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

COVID-19 response

[edit]

"GreaterGood's Covid-19 Response" can be seen here. Now the site admits more than 1 click a day. It may be included in the wiki page. LostMyMind (talk) 11:01, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
