Game cover

I feel that is not yet a need for a game cover on the article since the current one Image:Sd-raw-07.JPG) is an edited one and not official. Maybe just a logo for now? --Thorpe | talk 22:44, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. I've put it back to the plain logo. --Oakster 13:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Bra and Panties for created superstars?

I've always enjoyed playing the Bra and Panty matches, but I was bummed when I found out a created female superstar cannot participate in one. I hope they make that possible in this installment. --Fanficgurl 2:05, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

That would be cool but are they having Bra and Panties matches anymore? It looks like they are bigger fans of Fulfill Your Fantasy matches.Yugioh73036 15:53, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036

Joey Mercury

Joey Mercury has been announced as part of the roster —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.101.154.221 (talkcontribs) .

I take it you saw that thread on the caw.ws forum mentioning him on the featured roster with Cena, Angle and Mysterio. Not that I doubt Mercury being included on the game but I can't see any sources such as articles, screenshots or videos actually backing it. I'm leaving it off for now until a better source is given. --Oakster (Talk) 18:02, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
It's also possible that whoever wrote that article confused "Johnny Nitro" with "Joey Mercury" as some have a habit of doing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.150.130.65 (talkcontribs) .

Article title?

Apparently this is what is said on IGN [1]:

In other SmackDown-related news, THQ has revealed that there is a slight (and we do mean minor) title change with the game. The RAW portion of the title is no longer "all caps" like it was in previous installments -- now Raw is spelled in a completely normal fashion. It may not be earth-shattering, for sure, but at least it's thorough.

I also noticed that unlike all the other logos in the series, there is a lack of the exclamation mark for SmackDown!. I usually tend to keep things as RAW and SmackDown! as with almost all the other Wikipedia articles around here, but I guess we'll have to move this. I've added a redirect for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 for now but if anyone wants to move the article, feel free to. --Oakster (Talk) 21:26, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and done the move myself. --Oakster (Talk) 21:34, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Australian Release Date

can someone put it on if known —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.94.35.102 (talkcontribs) .

How are we going to give you the Australian release date when the game isn't even finished yet? Jeez, be patient. Levodevo 03:39, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

WHAT IS THE ROSTER FOR SD VS RAW 2007???

dose any 1 no the roster for sd vs raw 2007 i hope it has all sd and raw roster and some wicked legends like dudley boyz hardy boyz chyna hogan l.o.d dx and superstars like that —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.38.154.179 (talkcontribs) .

Firstly, take a chill pill. Anyway, the roster of about 60 has not been released yet and won't be until August if we're going the same way as last year. As it says on the article, only Angle, Cena, Mysterio and HHH are confirmed so far. In my opinion, Matt Hardy and Hulk Hogan (as a legend) are all but confirmed for the next game. DX (HHH and HBK, that is) might have a chance (all depends on the cutoff date which is about mid-year) and so might LOD as legends, but I won't be surprised if they don't make it. And finally, the Dudley Boyz and Jeff Hardy are major no's as the Dudleyz are contracted to TNA and Jeff's current situation with TNA makes him heavily unlikely to be in the game. --Oakster (Talk) 19:56, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Mickie James

Shouldn't Mickie be added to the confirmed roster? She is the Women's champion and it's pretty certain that all current champions will be in the game. Levodevo 22:54, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Something could possibly happen between now and the cut off date (August usually) that would prevent her from being in it. It's unlikely, but it's still speculation at this point. Only officially confirmed people should be listed.Tigermave 08:22, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Looks like you called it right, since Lita is now the Women's Champ. Cosmic Larva 05:07, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

wich divas are gonna be on the game some 1 tell me plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.38.155.183 (talkcontribs) .

If the last two years are an indicator of what to come, wait until mid to late August for the roster to come out. --Oakster (Talk) 20:08, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I heard somehwere the cut off date was Wrestlemania —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.194.50.63 (talkcontribs) .

John Cena, Rey Mysterio and many more Balls Mahoney RVD Big bum —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brookhayd (talkcontribs) .

I don't think any of those guys are confirmed, Cena and Rey will probably be in the game, but until it's official they are, I wouldn't go telling people they're in it yet. Cosmic Larva 03:23, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

raw 2

i think they should use an entrance like raw 2 where they show your moves on the titantron and you should be able to use Cd's as theme music

Yeah that would be awesome, but it might not happen with this game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.150.130.65 (talkcontribs) .

This would only be possible on the X-Box 360 and PS3 (possibly) as the other systems don't allow custom soundtracks.
Xbox 360 only if it happens. PS3 version ain't comin' out.--Yugioh73036 09:37, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036

Do you think that D-X will be an available stable in the game?User:Killswitch Engage

I sure hope so. If not, I have two words for THQ....SUCK IT!Yugioh73036 03:07, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036

ECW???

As we all know ECW is back as a WWE brand but I was just wondering if will be included as an alternate brand like RAW or SmackDown! in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. Reply on this or my discussion page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Racer38 (talkcontribs) .

It all depends on the cutoff date for the roster which I heard can be between April to June. In my own belief, I doubt it'll be included in a similar case to the Alliance not being included in time for Just Bring It. But then again that's just my own speculation and not official from THQ or YUKE's. --Oakster (Talk) 15:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

THQ has two words for ya F**k You —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brookhayd (talkcontribs) .

There has been talk that there will be ECW wrestlers in the game to some extent. Blacklist

WWE vs ECW 2007

I heard that this may be the name they eventually call the game. I can't remember where I saw the source and can't find it neither. If somebody could find it, that would be cool. SilentRage 12:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

    • They probably wont add the new ECW brand in story mode, but maybe the could add it in exhibition mode, although if they did they would have to get Joey Styles to do a voice over and leave him to do ECW's commentating on his won because they will have done Tazz's voice overs already with him saying Smackdown and Cole. --Don.-.J 20:57, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I highly doubt ECW will be in the game title ever. RobJ1981 00:03, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

RVD and Henry

On IGN, Mark Henry and RVD have been confirmed. Each guy is asked in the interview what they want to see from their characters in the game:

http://sports.ign.com/articles/708/708370p1.html - RVD http://sports.ign.com/articles/710/710571p1.html - Henry

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.234.144.37 (talkcontribs) .

I might as well note this to you and other editors trying to place RVD and Henry back in, they are not confirmed. This article published a couple of months after the interviews does not feature either of those and its recent update doesn't either. So don't place them back until a better confirmation is made. --Oakster (Talk) 08:40, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

There is no source becuase this is completly untrue and completly unfounded. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.227.191.185 (talkcontribs) .

Maybe they'll do something with the diva search. Oh, wait. This game is supposed to be fun. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.170.104.50 (talkcontribs) .

Other than add the Winner, Layla(not sure if I spelled that right) granted she makes the cutoff date, I doubt they would do anything with the Diva Search. Cosmic Larva 05:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Realism

I saw an interview with one of the people maikng this game and they said they are trying to make it as realistic as possible. I think they should do the game how they did them wrestling games for N64, but with all the features they can use from the Smackdown vs Raw searies. --Don.-.J 21:02, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

If they're trying to make the game realistic they need it where crusierweights can't do anything to Super Heavyweights like the Big Show & Andre the Giant. Rey Mysterio shouldn't be able to do a bulldog on Andre or a hurricanara (sp?). Characters also shouldn't be able to be hurt so easily this time around. --Son of Kong 3:28, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
A bulldog has nothing to do with weight since, a 100 pound person could bulldog a 600 pound person. It's basically just driving a persons head into the mat. TJ Spyke 21:16, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Latest videos

I've just watched the recent videos from IGN and I've noticed a few tidbits about the game. I'm not sure which parts should be included in the article but I'll note it here:

  • The commentators ringside were Jim Ross & Tazz on RAW and Tazz & Tazz (yeah ...) on SmackDown!. I would guess that the models for presumingly Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler have not been finished yet. I wouldn't include this in the article yet due to this being speculative nature. Also, the lack of audio doesn't confirm commentary teams.
  • The referees were I believe Mike Chioda for RAW and Nick Patrick for SmackDown!.
  • Three arenas were shown: RAW, SmackDown! and WrestleMania 22.

--Oakster (Talk) 12:33, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree that they shouldn't be included in the article yet because they are not confirmed yet! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.194.111.177 (talkcontribs) .

PS3 Cancellation?

I'm not quite sure whether it should be mentioned on the article until further information has been released from THQ or IGN, but there's apparently news on the PS3 version being cancelled. I've just looked further on this, and there is a post on the German THQ forums from its site admin about this. --Oakster (Talk) 21:37, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Its been officially announced that the ps3 version of the game has been cancelled. Go here for the info. http://www.ps3.net/newsboard/view.php?id=380 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thatdambgood (talkcontribs) .

... which was the link I had posted above lmao. --Oakster (Talk) 08:56, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

That's bullshit. Period.

Oh well. At least TNA's game will be on the PS3. For Now. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.170.104.50 (talkcontribs) .

Roster

Is that roster confirmed? And what about Kane? SOAD KoRn 15:39, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, only those nine are confirmed. The rest should be confirmed within the next two to three weeks with IGN's Superstar Countdown coming in mid-August starting with the full roster announced. --Oakster (Talk) 20:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Legends

The legends have been confirmed, go the Gamefaqs message board & look around. Choose the 360 as the system. I'm going to add the Legends as in the confirmed superstars part so nobody erase it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Son of Kong (talkcontribs) .

Message boards generally aren't good sources. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources#Bulletin boards, wikis and posts to Usenet --Jtalledo (talk) 10:02, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

No. That's false. The Legends roster is NOT confirmed. Someone is making it up to try and get some fame. There are no confirmed legends right now. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.227.191.185 (talkcontribs) .

Batista & Torrie

Not sure who keeps doing this, but can people please stop adding Batista & Torrie to the regular roster? Granted both are more than likely going to be in, but just because they are on the cover means nothing. Remember, Ken Shamrock was on the SD2 cover and wasn't in the game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.234.144.37 (talkcontribs) .

IGN has confirmed that Batista and Torrie are indeed part of the roster. --The Scourge 13:07, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

ign hasn't torrie. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.157.178.58 (talkcontribs) .

Yes they have. See this article which quotes: But on to the more pressing question: Which superstars have been confirmed for today? "Legend Killer" Randy Orton, "The Animal" Dave Batista, and the dog-toting diva, Torrie Wilson are the newest three to join THQ's growing lineup. --Oakster (Talk) 17:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

new info

There is new info at ign.com but i don't know how to add it as a source, and it concerns season mode —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Klptcck (talkcontribs) .

I've found your source, I'll get it sorted out right now. --Oakster (Talk) 19:15, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for telling. --Oakster (Talk) 19:29, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Rumor

It's rumored that THQ is working on a Smackdown game for their upcoming next-generation console, called, the "Wii". It doesn't mention Smackdown vs Raw 2007, so, it could possibly be a new title, but thats just my speculation.

Aussie Relase Date

What's with the new roster?

Where is all this new info coming from? Cosmic Larva 04:04, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

From gamingring. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.56.128.20 (talkcontribs) .
And how accurate is this gamingring? Do they themselves have a copy of the game?--The Scourge 06:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I'd say GamingRing is pretty reliable and the article already has one reference from them, so I'm letting it stay. --Oakster (Talk) 09:46, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes they have a copy of the game,Everything from gamingring is accuate. (63.235.162.27)

When people add a name to the confirmed roster, could you provide a link? This will make things a bit easier, especially for the anti-Wikipedia folks. --69.19.14.36 16:04, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
I agree. Then we can exactly know what is vandalism and what is confirmed.Freebird Jackson 21:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Current Roster

So there's word going around that IGN said the info that GamingRing's giving out is bogus. This could easily be an attempt to keep the fans on their toes, but it could also be the truth. Think this would be a problem for the article, then?--The Scourge 22:24, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I just deleted it. http://boards.ign.com/wwe_smackdown/b6546/125902395/p1/?61 I trust Jeremy

The GamingRing posts have now been removed as requested by THQ. There's an agreement between gaming sites and THQ over when information should be released (according to IGN) and GamingRing breached that agreement as it wasn't 100% confirmed by THQ or WWE yet. So we're back with the original 12 until next week. --Oakster (Talk) 13:42, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

GR Roster

What was the roster that Gaming Ring announced(even though it was fake)? chris2038win 9/1/06

Though I wouldn't call it totally "fake", the wrestlers were Big Show, Boogeyman, Ric Flair, Chavo Guerrero, Matt Hardy, Kane, Ken Kennedy, Bobby Lashley, Shawn Michaels, Mickie James and Finlay along with Eddie Guerrero, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect and Dusty Rhodes as legends. --Oakster (Talk) 19:31, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
