The discussion of wetland indicator status is obsolete. Categories are no longer defined as reported. Readers should be sent to http://rsgisias.crrel.usace.army.mil/apex/f?p=703:1:

As of 31st January 2021, McAfee Web Advisor diagnoses both of the above two army.mil links as unsafe. Whoever offered them, please provide a better source. Instead of that, it may be helpful to link to this wetland status primer offered by the Ecological Society of America. The point is that the status of an area being a wetland is not merely a legal designation, it is also a scientific one. Accordingly, the Wikipedia page ought not be constrained to simply a legal designation. If there is a need to disambiguate, there should be two pages, or the present page ought to be reorganized to show both. bayesianlogic.1@gmail.com

Status definition updates

[edit]

Status definitions were updated in July 2012 based on qualitative ecological descriptions by a National Panel (NP) that was initiated by the US Army Corp of Engineers. The article needs to be updated to reflect those changes. Added Update tag to the article and leaving sources here. I may or may not update it, but no sense in someone else having to redo what I just tracked down for something else I'm working on.
