Article edit history going back over a couple months shows no issues/conflicts.

Good article nomination on hold

This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of April 20, 2009, compares against the six good article criteria:

2. Factually accurate?: Not sure the cite to Amazon.com is necessary in the Publication history subsection when other better cites exist for this info already.

3. Broad in coverage?: The Film adaptation subsection is larger than both the Themes and Reception subsections.

Themes and Reception should be expanded a bit more - there is most likely enough info out there in additional WP:RS sources to double the size of these sections. The Themes subsection at present only utilizes one source, and the Reception subsection six. In an article about the novel itself, the subsection about the film adaptation should not be the largest subsection in the entire article.

4. Neutral point of view?:

Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved. After 48 hours the article should be reviewed again. Unfortunately, there isn't that much more out there, at least in English. I don't read French, and the translators puke on the one other source I found that might have some thematic discussion. For reviews, I've pretty much found every English one that I could, and French ones are, again, difficult to find as its not a language I'm familiar with. I have searched some, of course, but ones I found that I thought were reviews turned out not to be. Any suggestions for how to address this other than cutting the adaptation section to be shorter than the other two? No, don't trim down other sections - just expand the ones I mentioned above with additional WP:RS sources. Here are some places to look: books, news archives, academic sources. These sources are not yet used in the article [1], [2], [3], leading me to believe other potential sources have also not yet been used. Sometimes if a pageview or article is not available on the Internet, it is really worthwhile to do some extra work at the library and request the actual books for research (and journals in microfiche). I saw the first source, but wasn't sure what use it would be to go into such detail over his attacks on Brando beyond a summary. If you think the example would help, I can added it. I didn't use the second since it basically just resumes the plot. The third, I hadn't seen. Will try to request the relevant pages via deliverEdocs. As a side note, I have done lots of work via the library for this and many other articles, including having book chapters pulled from other libraries, journal article requests, etc. But much was either not usable here (about the film) or in French (can't read). -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, well I would strongly recommend doing that as well, as it looks like there are probably a good deal additional sources not yet used in the article that could be incorporated to expand upon the Themes and Reception subsections.
