Recent developments

[edit]

Having the hostels like Winchester etc in this section which were not part of the renewal project is nonsense. Those closed outside of the renewal project. If those are listed separately, then by rights every other opening and closure over the last 75 years should be listed as well. Renewal was seen as a big cull and deserves specific attention. That DS includes Winchester as being part of a disposal programme isn't relevant. Were YHA to appoint special staff to deal with the sale of one set of buildings as opposed to dealing with all those to be disposed of in the same period? Of course not.

More pictures please

[edit]

More pictures of various hostels would be good - only 1 currently. 92.28.242.45 (talk) 09:27, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Statistics

[edit]

I wonder:

  • Is there any statistic table or graph how many beds there were opened in the summer time by year?
  • Are there any values how many guests and how many nights there were every year?

Hope to get an answer the next months or years or decades (dont wait too long, I am too old one day). -- Willi The Kid (talk) 09:51, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There will be within YHA and there's probably published figures inside their various publications but you'd have to go trawling to find them. Nthep (talk) 13:13, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, or I have to ask them directly.
List of youth hostels in England and Wales is very nice. I wrote an commentary about the list on its discussion page. I wonder what the future of hostelling will be. However I had an excellent time there in Britain.
I wonder how Corona will have effect on Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales)#21st century. -- Willi The Kid (talk) 19:36, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
