Lasst uns erfreuen

[edit]
  • Reviewed: WP:QPQ isn't required for my third DYK nomination.
  • Comment: Fivefold expansion. Timely topic for the Easter season during April–May. The page name, originally a re-direct, was just shortened technically from the previous "List of hymns set to Lasst Uns Erfreuen". The hook is sourced by three reliable academic citations, from Wilson (confirming the 1906 Easter hymn with melody from original 1623 hymnal), Fisher (confirming the 1623 editor Friedrich Spee), and Spee/Hellyer (confirming Spee's witch-hunt connection).

5x expanded by Patrug (talk). Self-nominated at 23:33, 6 April 2017 (UTC).

  • Long enough, new enough, QPQ not required. Hook length good and interesting. No copyvio issues or near paraphrasing apparent. Patrug, my only comment is that "All Creatures of Our God and King" might be more widely known for the hook, but that could be a regional popularity prejudice I have. Anyway, it's good to go. • @TonyBallioni: Thanks much. It's true that "All Creatures" is currently somewhat better known. I picked "Ye Watchers" because it's the version that still reflects the original Easter subject of the hymn, and this DYK item is likely to appear sometime around the holiday (16 April). The hook would exceed the character limit if both of these hymn titles were included. —Patrug (talk) 14:56, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Makes sense. I associate both hymns with Easter, but either works and the topic is interesting, so you'll hear no objections from me. Good work expanding the article. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:06, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • I'm not familiar enough with the DYK process. Would it possible to put this item into WP:DYKNA#Special occasion holding area for the "April 16 (Easter Day)" subsection? Or did I miss the opportunity by not doing this for the original nomination? —Patrug (talk) 15:59, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
I'll move it to the holding area manually. EEng 19:15, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks. I just wiki-linked Easter in the hook. —Patrug (talk) 20:13, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
