Salma Ismail

[edit]

Created by 97198 (talk). Self-nominated at 12:02, 15 November 2017 (UTC).

  • Hi 97198, review follws: article created 10 November; article is of good length; article is fully inline cited to reliable sources; I detected no ccopyright violations or overly close paraphrasing; hook is interesting, below 200 characters, cited in the article and checks out to source; QPQ has been done - Dumelow (talk) 20:42, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
  • If the hook says too much, it's not so hooky. Besides, WWII lasted only 6 years. Is the last clause necessary? Yoninah (talk) 23:44, 2 December 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: I trust your judgment. How much do you suggest cutting from the hook? The whole "it took 11 years" clause or just "because of WWII"? 97198 (talk) 12:39, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
  • @97198: Well, it doesn't sound so hooky to take 11 years to complete medical studies because classes were suspended. Do you think it sounds all right to leave it at:
  • ALT1: ... that it took Salma Ismail, the first Malaysian Malay woman to qualify as a doctor, 11 years to complete her medical studies?
  • I wish you had more biographical information in the article to draw from for a hook. Yoninah (talk) 13:48, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Yes, ALT1 looks fine to me – a bit snappier than the original. Unfortunately I couldn't find any more information about her than what is already included in the article. 97198 (talk) 10:33, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
  • OK, thanks. Restoring tick per ALT1 per Dumelow's review. Yoninah (talk) 11:49, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
