I had no idea. Maybe I should cancel this DYK nomination? I do not know how to do this. A loose noose (talk) 15:03, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to sort things out. I added the signature stamp to the comment before this one. I think Heb the best is saying that this hook resembles one we ran before. But System 001 appears to be a new article that can be judged on its own merits. Please submit a different hook, and I'll review it. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:53, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I don't really know the rules, just wanted to bring attention to it. Looking into in now, it seems it is a "new content"-showcasing thing. Another thing I would like to mention, without knowing if it changes anything, is that I have suggested that is is merged back into The Ocean Cleanup, because I think it is an unnecessary split. ― Heb the best (talk) 04:25, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

* ALT2:... that System 001— an unmanned, floating, solar powered, passive garbage collection device— has begun its attempt to gather and remove half of the plastic debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch within the next five years?Source:[3]

How's that, then? A loose noose (talk) 02:32, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
First of all, it is wrong to say that System 001 will remove half the plastic within five years; the estimate is based on a fleet of 60 vessels, not just one. Secondary, if those numbers are used, I think it should be more clear to the reader, that is it the ocean cleanup's own estimates. Stating that it is possible to clean up half the plastic within 5 years is a bold statement, and hence require clear attribution. ― Heb the best (talk) 04:25, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
  • There is now a merge tag on the article. A loose noose I suggest you comment on the merge discussion and let us know here how it works out. Yoninah (talk) 14:22, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

(I myself did not understand the original scope of the project. Consider ALT3 once the merger discussion is closed. A loose noose (talk) 16:54, 12 December 2018 (UTC))
Good hook, although I would replace "fix" with "clean up". ― Heb the best (talk) 18:15, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
Done. A loose noose (talk) 19:49, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
Now "clean up" is repeated twice in the hook. BTW the purpose of a hook is to "hook" the reader in, not to tell him so much that he doesn't need to click on the article. Brevity and wit is the goal here. Yoninah (talk) 20:38, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
How about these? A loose noose (talk) 20:49, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
ALT5 is hooky, thanks. Now your major goal is to get rid of that merge tag so this nomination can proceed. Yoninah (talk) 22:30, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
Abort. Article is destined to be merged into The Ocean Cleanup. Note to self: next time you write a new article, consider not nominating it for DYK... A loose noose (talk) 19:58, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
