Thasi Thanou is a 2010 Manipuri film written by Dr. Jayanta and directed by Mayanglangbam Raghumani (Eepu).[1][2] The film is produced by M. Loyanganbi Chanu under the banner of Eeraba Pictures. It stars Huirem Seema, Denny Likmabam, Lairenjam Olen and Leishangthem Tonthoi in the lead roles.[3][4] The movie was released at Friends Talkies, Imphal in 2010.[5] The DVDs of Thasi Thanou were released post Seema's demise in September 2011.[6] The film won an award at the 1st Sahitya Seva Samiti MANIFA 2012.[7]

Synopsis

The film tells the story of Thagoi who answers to the spiritual calling and becomes a Maibi. This gives solace to the otherwise bitter, unforgettable past she experienced in her life.

Soundtrack

Jeeten Khaidem composed the soundtrack for the film and Anand Bhushan and Jeeten Khaidem wrote the lyrics. The songs are titled Waheina Phongdokpa Ngamdrabasu and Thawaigidi Thawai Oiba Nangni.

Accolades

Huirem Seema won the Best Actress in a Leading Role Award for her role in the film at 1st Sahitya Seva Samiti MANIFA 2012.[8][9] The award was given posthumously.
