Aida Kandil

Aida Kandil is a Moroccan entrepreneur and the CEO of MyTindy,[1] an e-commerce platform that showcases Moroccan artisans and handicrafts globally. Kandil is also a recognized public speaker, participating in international events that promote women empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Early Life and Education

Aida Kandil graduated from McGill University [2]in Montreal, Canada, with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, majoring in Strategic Management and Marketing (2017). In 2022, she completed a Data Science Bootcamp at Le Wagon in Casablanca, gaining skills in machine learning, AI, and data visualization.

Career

MyTindy (2018 – Present)

Kandil co-founded MyTindy in June 2018, a platform connecting over 2,000 artisans from Morocco to global markets, with products sold in more than 40 countries. Under Kandil's leadership, the company achieved a 150% increase in international sales and significantly expanded its social media presence and web traffic. She has also spearheaded key partnerships with the Moroccan Ministry of Crafts[3] and Royal Air Maroc[4], elevating Moroccan crafts on the international stage.

6Grain (2018)

Before MyTindy, Kandil was the Project Manager at 6Grain[5], an agri-data app that helped farmers in Morocco digitize their fields.

Labelium (2017-2018)

Kandil managed SEO and e-commerce strategies for L’Oréal Corporate Accounts while working at Labelium[6], contributing to notable increases in organic traffic, client satisfaction, and sales​.

Public Speaking and Leadership

Kandil is an accomplished public speaker, having participated in several high-profile events. She spoke at the SLB (Schlumberger)[7] event on women empowerment and was selected by SOCAP[8] to present her company in San Francisco in 2023. Additionally, she is a fellow of Opportunity Collaboration[9], an international forum focused on poverty alleviation and social impact​.

In recognition of her efforts, Kandil won the POSEAM Orange MENA award for women empowerment[10]. She has delivered over 50 workshops and presentations on e-commerce, digital marketing, and social media, reaching more than 1,000 professionals and entrepreneurs​.

Social Impact

Through MyTindy, Kandil aims to empower 1 million SMEs and MSMEs across Africa by 2035, starting with Morocco.[17]The platform provides artisans with the digital tools necessary to access global markets, improving economic opportunities for underrepresented communities[18]

Advocacy and Public Speaking

In 2024, Kandil was nominated as Head of Empowerment of Women in Tech Morocco[19], where she focuses on developing programs to support women in technology through mentorship, training, and professional opportunities​.
