About Me

[edit]

I work as an art museum Librarian and am learning Wikipedia editing. I'm a member of various professional organizations such as ARLIS/NA, SAA, SLA , AAM and also volunteer as a DPLA Community Representative. In August 2017 I attended the Wikimania 2017 conference in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As Libraries are centers for information storage, access, research, creation and user interaction, they need to be active participants in encouraging (what could be described as) the "participatory knowledge-based culture movement"

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

I always strive to abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. From time to time, I do insert links or create articles based on library resources and museum collections. Please know that I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other Wikipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration.

My Belief

[edit]

My belief is that the true value of Wikipedia is through the process of learning and the self-affirming sense of being that occurs from the process of editing, People are the most human when they create, collaborate and share with others. Wikipedia is an equal opportunity experience provider that unites people globally to create a world that’s a better place. And it’s through the process of learning and sharing knowledge through Wikipedia at the Library that makes this an enduring and memorable form of human engagement.
