Orphaned non-free image (Image:Operationsmilebig.jpeg)

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading Image:Operationsmilebig.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 11:06, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --05:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Tagging

[edit]

Hi Madhero88. Thanks for your work tagging articles for speedy deletion. However could I ask you attach a reason for the request. For example {{db-a7}} if the article asserts no notability or {{db-attack}} if the article is an attack page? You can find more help at WP:CSD. Pedro :  Chat  08:31, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Could you be more careful when tagging speedies? You tagged an article on the morning show for the Philippine's major TV channel (which I reverted), as well as tagging a page on a chemical test as "patent nonsense", when it clearly wasn't (I deleted the article for notability reasons). Thanks, yandman 09:44, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

""Same here. Please add a reason why. For more information, see WP:CSD. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 11:53, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to pile on here, but also be careful with the "no content" tag for speedy deletion - this article clearly has content. Perhaps you meant A7, for an article about a band that doesn't assert notability? Regards, Somno (talk) 13:27, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry to add yet another example but you're only be able to correct your mistakes if people tell you you're making them. This time the problem is with Northwestern Middle School as speedy deletion under A7 only applies to real people, organisations and web content. Schools are specifically mentioned as something that A7 does not apply to. Can I suggets you read WP:CSD and try to be more careful. Dpmuk (talk) 22:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Relevant bit is here: WP:CSD#A7. A7 applies to, to quote, "An article about a real person, an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools)." Dpmuk (talk) 13:21, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Adoption Offer

[edit]

Hi there. Thanks for offering to adopt me as a user. I work for a company called TechSkills, and we'd like to create an informative profile regarding our company (abiding by Wikipedia's COI rules, of course). I started an article on my user page, but I want to figure out the best way to get it added to Wikipedia while abiding by all applicable rules. Take a look at it and let me know what you think our next steps should be.

Also, it's been suggested that I should change my username because it might conflict with Wikipedia policies on self-promotion. I'll take care of this as soon as I get in touch with you, to avoid any confusion.

Thanks.

[edit]

Would you take a look at that article. I created it and feel it does not meet criteria for deletion. If you agree would you mind removing the tag and commenting on the talk page? kilbad (talk) 20:37, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Papillomavirus template - response

[edit]

Glad you like the papillomavirus template I was drafting on my user page. Yes I intend it to link the articles on HPV, Pap smear, Cervical CA, etc. I hadn't made it into a template yet because it still needs a bit of work on organization (especially the part about Colposcopy, biopsy, and treatment). But since you expressed interest in it, I went ahead and created the Template:Human papillomavirus, so that others can work on it too. Thanks. Zodon (talk) 22:44, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

School Deletions

[edit]

Thought I'd start a new section as we're moving away from speedy tagging. I think I see what your getting at. Schools con not be 'speedy deleted' however they can be deleted by the 'proposed deletion' and 'articles for deletions' routes. The deletion policy page explains this in all detail. As an aside it's normal (a long standing consensus at AfD) for not-notable schools to be re-directed to a page that lists them or, if none does, is about the area the schools in (see the bottom of the education section here) - I often forget this and prod instead only to have someone correct me. Dpmuk (talk) 13:38, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Tagging for speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi Madhero88. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I just wanted to inform you that I declined to delete Byrontini, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion under criterion G11 because of the following concern: Please note that G11 only applies to blatant advertising. It's not for articles with non-neutral wording nor a replacement to delete non-notable subjects that fail A7. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion and especially what is considered Non-criteria. In future you should rather tag such pages for proposed deletion or start an appropriate deletion discussion. Regards SoWhy 14:09, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the note Maen. K. A. (talk) 14:25, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I hate to say this

[edit]

I feel you were very sarcastic and snarky while promoting the deletion of my article on Libero De Rienzo. Parnagerstar (talk) 21:08, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I would like to add you should research something before you accuse it of it not being notable. Alexandra Crandell is on a popular television show called The City. Despite not being a fan of her or the show she appears on, I thought she merited an entry like the rest of The City cast, for example Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo.

Not only that, she is signed to One Management and Independent Talent Group Ltd.. If you go to those model agency websites, you will notice that a majority of the models have wikipedia entries such as Chandra North, Bar Refaeli, Naomi Campbell, Natalia Vodianova, Oriol Elcacho and Karen Elson, just to name a few.

To defend her notability, she has been profiled in New York magazine. Only the top models in the industry get profiled.

There are currently 80 wikipedia entries for Big Brother contestants who have done nothing noteworthy other than appearing on Big Brother. Yet, you have not requested any of those articles for deletion. There is no reason why you should promote the deletion of the Alexandra Crandell entry based on the aforementioned information. Sid1977 (talk) 04:07, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi please don't take that personal, I have no reason to tag a page you created, all I see is the page, and you must include these things in the article before telling me that, anyway sorry if you feel that the tag was so fast and you didn't had time to complete the article, and after all the article is since here, since deletions are not made haphazardly, and your welcome to wikipedia Maen. Edit reversion on 'Food for Fighters'

[edit]

If you didn't notice, as you keep reverting it, I'm cleaning up the vandalism on Food for Fighters, where someone has added in sexual references that are not present in the film, as well as an insult to US soldiers. Your reverts are reverting the page to its vandalised state!

[edit]

I think you'll find that you used the wrong template on my talk page (User talk:91.110.198.212). You should also try to correct the problem rather than use an automated reversion. 91.110.198.212 (talk) 15:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

I am aware of the procedures but don't know that tag to label an article as needing a complete rewrite. It's crap, hence the use of {{crap}}. Instead of reverting the edit it would have been more approriate for you to substitute the correct tag. Thanks, 91.110.198.212 (talk) 15:59, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 13:49, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Voodoo

[edit]

I think my edit was constructive because I removed a section that was unneeded and was cluttering up the page with some fans opinion about the song with absolutely no citation or validation of any kind. The writer rambled on and the section could not be revised without being removed. There was nothing of use in the section. The writer was just giving their own take on it and even guessing how the musician thinks with no citation. There are even spelling and grammar errors. I think you should have given your advice to whomever wrote that section in the first place as that looks more like a test edit. The section I tried to remove was vandalism. You have been given the right to rollback pages but you clearly cannot judge the vandalism that was in them in the first place.

Vandalism warning

[edit]

You have placed a vandalism warning on my talkpage here for my "unconstructive" edit to Chimpanzee here. If you look closely, you will notice that my edit was to remove the word "fuck" which had been inserted after one of titles for no discenible reason. I do not consider this action to be unconstructive.--Tangent747 (talk) 19:25, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Neuqua Valley High School revert

[edit]

Hey, you reverted a huge amount of edits I made to the page on Neuqua Valley High School, citing vandalism. Much of what I did was to remove vandalism and irrelevant information, and most of the edits I made had edit descriptions. Further, all of my edits were correct, relevant, and not vandalism, and they took me a good while to do. Can you either put them back, or let me do it? I'd put it back myself right away, were I not worried that you'd revert it again.

Thanks. 199.94.84.61 (talk) 23:06, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Yngwie article

[edit]

Hi, The Criticism section which I removed had no real place being there. Blender, which has a reputation for being a generally untrusted source posted an article which defiled huge bands such as Whitesnake and The Doors. The article is generally ignored, in a similar way to Rolling Stones greatest 100 guitarists. The article had no place on the page, and any criticism of his technique and style, should be documented from recognized sources such as Guitarist Magazine, Total Guitar, Classic Rock etc. I think you are wrong in what you did, and by the looks of it, you seem to have annoyed a few more people round here. I think you should maybe take a break from Wikipedia, you seem a little addicted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.234.155.38 (talk) 02:33, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
