The Band

[edit]

Fortune Favours The Brave are an Essex based Metal Band From England.

Originally formed in 2006, Their musical style evolved from bands such as Darkest Hour, Killswitch Engage and Sikth, with strong melodic guitar riffs and harmonies, and heavy use of polyrythmics.
Their lyrical themes range from Living for the Moment (Carpe Diem), World War 1 imagery and memorial, Human Emotion and The Universe.

History

[edit]

Fortune Favours The Brave was formed in late 2006 after the collapse of My Own Enemy (Adam Aldridge, Ashley Dines, Jamie Tritton). They have gone through various name changes including 'Rivers Run Red' and 'Twist the Knife'.
In the first year of being together a 3 track Demo entitled Flourish and Grow was recorded by Adam at his home studio. The songs on the demo have since been re-recorded for a new e.p with new lyrics and vocal patterns. In terms of line-up, they have only ever changed their vocalist/frontman. After several failures to turn up to important band dates and never being able to take the pressure or endurance test of being a vocalist their original frontman was replaced by William Sparling in April of 2009.

Current E.P

[edit]

The band have recorded a self titled E.P originally intended to be the new "Flourish and Grow" but this theme was abandoned after the orginal vocalist was dismissed.

The new E.P is more of a concept E.P with a World War 1 theme appearing in most of the songs.
The E.P was recorded over a 5 month period (January 2009 - May 2009). I was engineered and produced by Marv Parker and Adam Aldridge at JiggaJam Studios in Essex, UK.
