The Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) is a state-owned entity tasked with leading Sarawak’s digital transformation. It plays a pivotal role in building a digital ecosystem that enhances infrastructure, promotes innovation, and develops digital talent across the state. SDEC’s mission is to drive Sarawak’s digital economy growth, making it more competitive, sustainable, and inclusive by 2030. Through various initiatives, SDEC aims to create opportunities for both urban and rural communities.

History

SDEC was established in 2017 as part of Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2022, which was initiated by the Sarawak Government. The corporation’s formation aligns with Sarawak’s vision to become a regional leader in the digital economy, improving public service delivery, fostering business growth, and creating a digitally empowered workforce.
