SBCCI is the main circuits and systems conference in South America. The first edition was organized in 1983 at Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The first edition was sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society and organized by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS. In 1997 the Brazilian Microelectronics Society becomes a co-sponsor. Since 1998 the proceedings were published by IEEE Computer Society Press. In 1999, IFIP WG 10.5 becomes co-sponsor of SBCCI. Since year 2000, it becomes co-located with the conference of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society - SBMicro. In 2001, it started the "In Cooperation with ACM SIGDA". In 2002, the Brazilian Microelectronics Society becomes a co-sponsor. In 2004, the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and ACM SIGDA becomes also sponsors of the SBCCI series. In 2006, the proceedings started being published by ACM Press till nowadays. SBCCI has now 4 sponsors: Brazilian Computer Society, Brazilian Microelectronics Society, IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and ACM SIGDA. IFIP WG10.5 is a co-sponsor. The conference attracts authors from all around the world.
