Taylor Stoermer (B.A., University of Redlands; M.A., Johns Hopkins University; Ph.D., University of Virginia), a native of Baltimore, is a public historian and scholar of the eighteenth-century Atlantic world, specializing in British North America and the American Revolution. He teaches at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and is an advisor to C-SPAN, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, and the Newport Historical Society. He recently taught public history and historic preservation at Harvard University, after having spent several years as the chief historian of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, before which he was an Invited Research Scholar at Brown University and a Fellow at the Lewis Walpole Library at Yale University.
