J Horsley III (born March, 1 1982) is a Washingtonian writer, artist, and musician. He played drums in the band Damn The Cow until they broke up in 2003 and bass in Ardus until quitting over band politics in 2004. J created the webcomic y2cl after quitting LICD earlier in 2003 after only completing one strip. He released webcomics from 2003 - 2016, creating over a dozen webcomic titles and almost 4,000 pages.

J has the cohosted several podcasts, most notably Spoiler Country and y2cl Radio. In 2024 he released his first novel Memoirs of a Suicide: Part One - Let's Start this off with a bang! He currently lives in Seattle, Washington.

  • Larry The Coked out Bunny Presents from Damn The Cow Comics and Studio SFI is an ashcan series collecting samples from various early projects. Released in 2004.
  • The Best of y2cl from Damn The Cow Comics is a limited ashcan size comic collecting 34 strips from y2cl. Released in 2005.
  • Y2Christ Lite Book One: Vol 1&2: The First 52 1/2 Strips from y2cl.net collects the first 52 1/2 strips from the series. Released in 2008.
  • Webcomics: What's Cooking? from TGT media. J provided a recipe and a comic strip. Released in 2011.
  • y2cl Presents from y2cl.net was an anthology series were each issue was focused on a different webcomic series with commentary. Three issues were released; Inanimate, Sergeant Blinky and his Brigade of Fantastic, and a Holiday Special. Released in 2015.
  • Jonly Nonly 24 Hour Comics Day 2015 Special from y2cl.net was a print version of the 2015 24 Hour Comics Day story. Released in 2016.
  • y2cl from y2cl.net was a series of print comics collecting the webcomic strips. Three issues where released before the series was cancelled. Released in 2016.
  • Tales from the Public Domain from Hellcat Press, released in 2017. J illustrated the story Missionary Soup written by Dave Thomas.
  • Trial Run from Arledge Comics, released in 2018. J wrote a story with his daughters, Saidey and Tegan, for this anthology.
  • The Eynes Anthology from y2cl.net is an anthology horror series that follows a single family over 1,000 with short stories told by different artists and writers. Book one was released in 2019.
  • Amongst The Barrens from The Comic Jam was a short for the 2019 Halloween Special. J provided letters for this story.
  • Heroe's Need Masks from Grit City Comics is an anthology about hope, community and any positive stories. Funds raised went to GetUsPPE during the Covid-19 pandemic. J write and illustrated a story call "You'll Never Have Kids - The Saddest and Happiest Week of My Life". Released in 2020.
  • Jonly Nonly from SpoilerVerse Publishing is a irreverent comic series that took the original webcomic and reformatted the strips in a sequential art story. Chapter 1, collecting issues 1-5, was released in 2023. Chapter 2, collecting issues 6-10 is planned for 2025.
  • y2cl-Daily from SpoilerVerse Publishing is a series of themed issues collecting the strips from the web-comic series of the same name. Issue 1 was released in January, 2024.
  • The Funny Twenty from SpoilerVerse Publishing is a series that takes strips for various webcomics created by J and updates the pages for release. Issue 1 released in February, 2024.

Webcomics

  • y2cl is a moronic webcomic that began on October 31, 2003 and ended on December 31, 2016. A special cooking strip was released on September 11, 2017 in promotion for Web-Comics: What's Cooking. Initially published in black and white and updated three times a week. The series follows caricatures of people from J's college years. Various storylines took the group to alternate worlds, a zombie invasion, and to space in the far future.
  • y2cl-weekly is a humor webcomic that began on January 1, 2004 and ended on February 26, 2004. It ran as a special feature on the alternative lifestyle website Divine Nation.
  • AVGS is a comedic random webcomic that began on July 9, 2004 and ended on December 24, 2016. Update schedule was sporadic and use as a fill in for when y2cl missed updates.
  • Inanimate is a humor adult webcomic that began on October 31, 2008 and ended on January 1, 2017. Initially released strips 5 days a week with a special guest comic on Saturdays and a Dirty Jobs feature on Sundays.
  • Stolen Ideas is a webcomic that took art from other webcomics, with permission, and re-wrote the story. It began on January 2, 2016 and ended on October 22, 2016.
