Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 00:32, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute

[edit]

I looked at the article talk page discussion. I didn't have a clue as to what in the article the dispute was about. Maybe the other editors did know. What I knew is that the discussion wasn't civil. Maybe you were discussing article content. In any case, discuss content, not contributors. Robert McClenon (talk) 08:01, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion was about certain edits made by user Phil81194. I tried to keep the discussion on that topic as much as I reasonably saw fit, but I'll be even more conservative about that in the future. Cheers. 216.164.249.213 (talk) 08:22, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I pinged you at Talk:Human extinction#Risk_estimates, but I don't think wp:ping actually works for IP editors, so allow me to draw your attention to it. mi1yT·C 04:29, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Talk:Amy Schumer, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:47, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so presumably not a bot. I left a comment on your talk page, please engage with me there or if preferred here 216.164.249.213 (talk) 16:56, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are trolling via WP:SEALIONING. You can engage with another admin to explain how this isn't trolling if you want to file an unblock request. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:03, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No I wasn't, you're wrong. I barely even know of schumer outside of constantly hearing her being called one of the world's worst comedians. I can show several conversations i've had to that end. You are just a poor judge of behavior as well as being extremely out of touch with her public reception.
"You can engage with another admin to explain how this isn't trolling if you want to file an unblock request." will do, although my guess is you're all in cahoots together. While I'm doing that, why don't you send the edit to 5 normally socially-functioning people under the age of 30 and ask them what they think. Cheers
P.S. I would prefer if you would stop referring to me as a troll. Stop doing that, now. 216.164.249.213 (talk) 17:13, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

I can see the uncivil undertones in your comments and this isn't new from this IP address(which I assume has been you). I think this is a good block. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:58, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

civil undertone? what the hell are you talking about? i think all of you have spent too much time online. but clearly this is a lost cause. goodbye! your encyclopedia doesnt deserve me. 6 month ban for "uncivil undertones" LMFAO what to expect from truth-hating communists — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.164.249.213 (talk) 14:39, December 2, 2023 (UTC)

No, I don't support the abolition of private property ownership, which is what communism actually is. Hopefully your attitude changes in 6 months. 331dot (talk) 22:50, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 331dot (talk) 07:13, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 6 months for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
