August 2023

[edit]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Budget of the United Kingdom, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 10:24, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

which change do you want a source for? either way, i think the change was needed/ was correct irrespective of a source 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B9B8:E261:C344:B012 (talk) 10:41, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
all the changes i made to the pages "spring statement" and "budget of the united kingdom" are correct as I am aiming to correct factual inaccuracies and have been linked (using gov.uk sites) where relevant and would benefit the wikipedia community if the information on the pages were correct, as I made. 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B9B8:E261:C344:B012 (talk) 10:49, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Per wp:verifiability, any edits you make should be traceable to a wp:reliable source Cheers Adakiko (talk) 11:55, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
the edits i made were linked, e.g. adding to the table with links, but they have been removed incorrectly 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B9B8:E261:C344:B012 (talk) 12:38, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
and the adding back in to the references of 'mini-budget' is incorrect as those events weren't budgets, so it was wrong to add back in. I am adding things which are correct, and were linked to a reliable source of gov.uk. and things removed were not-factually correct. 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B9B8:E261:C344:B012 (talk) 12:41, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your addition here: They are accompanied by an OBR forecast and followed by a finance bill. There must be at least one budget per fiscal year (starting April) because income tax and corporation tax are both technically temporary so need to be reapproved each year. The timing has varied considerably over recent years due to the timing of the 2019 General Election, the Covid-19 pandemic, and subsequent ministerial changes. is sourced by this: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/autumn-statement-2016-documents/autumn-statement-2016 Does not support the content. BTW: Please leave an wp:edit summary describing the reasoning behind your edits. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 18:35, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
that fact/statement is correct though. and youve removed other changes i made, despite them being linked to a reliable source (gov.uk), which i dont understand why. E.g. the most recent Budget was clearly Spring Budget 2023, yet the removal of my update takes it back to 2021 (the 2022 fiscal events are not Budgets, and it is incorrect to refer to them as so, as the now site says, which I amended and was removed). 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B761:58FD:6054:7BBA (talk) 10:31, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What's the source? I presume it is online. Please cite it; use the default Wiki editor and add a citation. wp:citing sources. The parts that are sourced, please feel free to add back. I undid your entire edit with a tool. Picking through what's sourced and what's unsourced can take a lot of time. I'm just a wp:volunteer here, I've got other things I want to spend my time on. UK budgets don't strike my fancy. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 17:03, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please use a move request

[edit]

On Talk:Spring Statement. See wp:requested moves. Wikipedia "moves" a page, not a "rename". Cheers Adakiko (talk) 19:46, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I said it was a requested move? It should be "moved" to a page that is Spring/ Autumn Statement. As in this source: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/autumn-statement-2022 Autumn Statements happen frequently and are the same as Spring Statements, just alternating times. 2A02:C7C:7018:8A00:B761:58FD:6054:7BBA (talk) 12:50, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You should communicate that on that talk page with a move request. It won't happen from a discussion here. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 17:10, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
