Thank you for the measured means in which you responded to my dubious and completely unintentional edit to the Diocese of Sydney - I was showing someone how easy it is to edit a page (with a facetious edit) and then the page froze - mea maxima culpa Adamm (talkcontribs) 11:17, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TemplateData

[edit]

Hey 99of9

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:08, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, 3 days notice. Really? Well, luckily I don't have too many templates on my plate at en-wp, so I'll be able to fix the few with parameters. I hope those who manage lots of templates have lots of free time this weekend! --99of9 (talk) 21:50, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for working on this. For future reference, this has to be in a noinclude block or a documentation subpage (similar to other documentation stuff). Superm401 - Talk 06:40, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I used the Wikipedia:VisualEditor/TemplateData_tutorial which doesn't mention no include for templates which don't have subpages. 99of9 (talk) 07:29, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia trainers requested in New South Wales

[edit]

Wikimedia Australia is looking for experienced Wikipedians to help out at training sessions across New South Wales, in particular in Newcastle, Wollongong, Port Macquarie and in Parkes. If you're interested, the details are at the following link:

We'd love to see you there! Lankiveil (speak to me) 12:43, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am thinking of a tilt at FAC for this soon - only problem has been that I've had two co-noms up already. When one is through we can punt this up there if you like. Once done it gives a template for other cicadas...Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:01, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm up for having a go, but I've not gone through this before, so you're the better judge of whether it's in striking distance. All I know is that we've exhausted the sources I'm aware of. --99of9 (talk) 16:03, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing is the first hurdle, and copyediting so it is simultaneously as exact/correct as possible, yet as accessible as possible is the key - we got a pretty thorough review at GAN which is a Very Good Thing. I think it is doable though have never taken an insect thru FAC. Biology articles are generally easier than astronomy ones I find.....might ask for another set of eyes to look at the prose.Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 02:01, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Right, now this one is looking nearly through, I am warming to the idea of buffing up some others for FAC - something with a body of study on it, maybe greengrocer, double drummer, black prince or redeye? Or razorgrinder? Redeye has a nice pic too. Any one of them take your fancy? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 08:09, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there's enough literature on razor grinder to give a broad enough coverage. I'm vaguely interested in the black prince, and I may have some pics (e.g. mating), but I haven't done the identification properly yet. --99of9 (talk) 11:35, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agree about razorgrinder. I had this idea of a double todays FA with this black prince and the other one as an amusing pun....black prince it is then.Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:17, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've put in two of my black prince pics, but let me know if you doubt the ID - I still haven't checked it thoroughly. They were in very large numbers in acacia trees behind the dunes near Bawley beach. --99of9 (talk) 08:04, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I think double drummer is developing ok too, so more into buffing that would be good. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:02, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Update - double drummer sources are a bit thin on the ground - you reckon we've scoured enough? Actually black prince material was hardet to find than I thought too.... I suspect green grocer will be easier. I will try to get a digital copy of Australian cicada monograph by froggatt and goding via ILL. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:57, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm nearly finished with the popular press (Trove) for double drummer. I haven't started on the scientific lit. Is that thin? --99of9 (talk) 02:15, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The most detailed description is the Burns 1962 link/paper, but other than that, is meagre. Is noted to be poorly known in some sources so that can go in. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:58, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

spider dilemma....

[edit]

Am waiting for Pavo (constellation) to be passed before we can nominate redback spider (thought it would have been done by now but this happens sometime - no biggie), as the rules say can have two co-noms at a time. IN the meantime we have Sydney funnel-web spider and/or White-tailed spider. I have alot of these critters in my house!

Some years ago, my wife was clearing a small drain full of gum leaves in heavy rain when she felt a pricking in her finger. It came up as a dark blister after a few days and she got some lymphangitis, at which point I took her to hospital. The blister was explored under anaesthetic and two bite marks (like fang marks) were noticed by the medical team. Anyway she was better after a day of IV antibiotics. It would be good to sort out and get on WP the latest on that spider too. Does working on either of these interest you? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:00, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Funnel web is more important and gets double the page hits, but it would be nice to have a better picture (can you catch one?). I'm also interested in white-taileds, and the medical story is sure to be interesting. (Also, maybe now that we have confirmation on the psaltoda plaga pictures we could revisit that? ... but readers care far more about spiders than cicadas!) --99of9 (talk) 00:19, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Another one to try would be the meta-article Australian funnel-web spider which is Australia's 500th most popular article. It's already got a good lead pic, and looks in reasonable shape. --99of9 (talk) 20:58, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, possibly - it being the common name of the subfamily I guess....will take a look. I generally find species articles more fun....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 23:22, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey...i think the sources are mixed up somewhere - on redback spider#Introductions - do you remember where the info on Latrodectus elegans being called redback came from? The source attached does not mention it so I suspect it must have been another and I can't find anything online....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 04:27, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Casliber Hmm, it was originally added by an IP, and then User:M.O.X seems to have mistakenly applied a ref that didn't support this secondary point. If you haven't found anything, I think it can be removed. The original Osaka paper (in Japanese) does not mention L. elegans. --99of9 (talk) 05:11, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! ok it goes as I see nothing in any other refs about this at all. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:25, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add the reference, but the tool I used expanded the existing reference. A cursory glance seemed to register. I didn't read the article in any detail. It was a quick skim. Apologies, James (TC) • 8:56pm 09:56, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Aah well, these things happen. All sorted now - cheers, Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 11:48, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

[edit]

There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Please sign up on the editathon project page if you can participate either online or in person with other Wikipedians. Hope to see you there! Dear User:Dougweller, you made a mistake in your block. You blocked an account of mine (User:File Upload Bot (99of9)), which is an approved bot with many hundreds of thousands of edits on Commons. I have not used it to edit here yet, because I do not have bot approval, I merely logged in. I think it is a bit extreme to block it. [edit]

For your excellent addition of the choir pic. I have done a number of things with it. I moved it up, and enlarged it, so that it is in what was a picture gap in the article. As you observed, it needed to be small in the previous space. I also selectively brightened the pic using photoshop, to reveal more of the choir, and saved it at a smaller size and lower resolution which diminishes the graininess a bit. I have replaced the article pic with the brighter one and left your original intact. I hope that this is OK? Let me know, because we can get the smaller on e deleted if there are any objections. Amandajm (talk) 00:51, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Great. My only negative from all of that is about the size. Since the pixel count is identical, I take it that you mean you altered the jpg compression? That is a crude way to smooth a picture, and eventually leads to Compression artifacts which reduce the information in the picture. If grain/noise is what you're concerned about, there are good ways to denoise an image, whilst preserving its quality, and if you like I can do that, but it's better if you upload your higher resolution brightened pic as the starting point. Anyway, you didn't reduce the file size very much, I think what you've come up with is fine, especially since it's primary use will be at this thumbnail size. I doubt anyone will need to print this one! --99of9 (talk) 03:04, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I just looked at the article. I think it should be in the choir section, since that's where it's relevant. Since it didn't fit properly there before, maybe the angel should move? --99of9 (talk) 03:05, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Main Page appearance: redback spider

[edit]

This is a note to let the main editors of redback spider know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on December 19, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/December 19, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Redback spider

The redback spider is a species of venomous spider indigenous to Australia. It is a member of the cosmopolitan genus Latrodectus, the widow spiders. The adult female has a black body with a prominent abdominal red stripe (pictured). Females have a body length of about 1 centimetre (0.4 in), while the male is much smaller, being only 3–4 mm (0.12–0.16 in) long. Mainly nocturnal, the female redback lives in an untidy web in a warm sheltered location near or inside human residences. It preys on insects, spiders and small vertebrates that become ensnared in its web. Male spiders and spiderlings often live on the periphery of the female spiders' web and steal leftovers. The redback is one of few arachnids which usually display sexual cannibalism while mating. It has a widespread distribution in Australia, and inadvertent introductions have led to established colonies in New Zealand, Japan and in greenhouses in Belgium. The redback is one of the few spider species that can be seriously harmful to humans. An antivenom has been available since 1956, although there are disputes about its effectiveness, and there have been no deaths directly due to redback bites since its introduction. (Full article...)

trade graphs

[edit]

Since you're an advocate of trade graphs and have now re-Included them there would be real value in providing some additional info from source on why trade goes up and down. And also it would be easier if graphs were in their own trade section. Also other countries may have bilateral trade data. Could you please add to make the bilateral articles series more complete. Thanks. LibStar (talk) 11:12, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Libstar Thanks for the note and for participating in the discussions. I agree the ideal is to have a decently described Trade or Economic Relations section, and for the graphs to be in that section. I will certainly include commentary when I come across it, but I edit (and read) a fairly wide range of article types, so cannot guarantee much in this area. Graphs for other countries are certainly possible, and I'm hoping to inspire (and help) others interested in automating their country's statistical data. Eventually I might get to it on my own, but there's so much Australian stuff I want to do first. --99of9 (talk) 11:23, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Main Page appearance: Jesus

This is a note to let the main editors of Jesus know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on December 25, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Jesus of Nazareth

Jesus (7–2 BC to 30–33 AD) is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God and the awaited Messiah of the Old Testament. Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that a historical Jesus existed, although there is little agreement on the reliability of the gospel narratives and how closely the biblical Jesus reflects the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Jewish preacher from Galilee, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman prefect, Pontius Pilate. Christians believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, performed miracles, founded the Church, died by crucifixion as a sacrifice to achieve atonement, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, from which he will return. The great majority of Christians worship Jesus as the incarnation of God the Son, the second of three Persons of a Divine Trinity. A few Christian groups reject Trinitarianism, wholly or partly, as non-scriptural. In Islam, Jesus is considered one of God's important prophets and the Messiah. (Full article...)

Spider

[edit]

Hey, 99, I'm sorry that my choice of words was offensive (it was). I get my dander up when FAC lets things through, and it wasn't really aimed at any one person-- just frustration at the deterioration that has occurred at FAC seeping through. Please accept my apologies. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:31, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I appreciate the apology. It's natural to think that things were (or would be) better when one was in charge. I do not know if you are right, but be careful with your judgements on FAC, because due to your prior position, you are possibly the person least able to disentangle your history from an objective judgement. --99of9 (talk) 00:02, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, 99; I'm sorry my previous post was so hurried, as I had a guest arriving for dinner. Once again, I'm sorry that you felt singled out, and that my wording was the reason you felt that way. (On FAC, yes, the decline in number of qualified reviewers was already well an issue by the time I resigned ... it's a frustrating situation.) I understand now that the timeline was such that it was just ... one of those things that happened. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:38, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand I got some great pics (not yet uploaded) of a few other cicadas this summer, so I'm ready for a few more species. --99of9 (talk) 07:36, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Casliber - The range map doesn't quite reach the coast in the north-eastern corner of NSW. Was that deliberate? --99of9 (talk) 07:50, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes - it seems to just miss the coast in that area. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 11:47, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Casliber The museum cicadas are now all uploaded at commons:Category:Cicadas_of_Australia. Most of them are a little dark, so if we need any for a decent article, I'll reprocess the raw image individually. My pics from the field (still to come) are of course way more awesome, but these will help with IDs. --99of9 (talk) 01:44, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need help

[edit]

Hi 99of9 :)
I see you are global Interface editor. I found a bug on rowiki. All our navboxex are broken, you can see here some examples: ro:Format:Real Madrid CF and ro:Utilizator:XXN/teste2. Look at the 3 buttons (v t e) and try collapse navbox.
I started a discussion on en Village Pump and guys proposed an idea to repair this bug. Can you help me with this problem by editing ro:MediaWiki:Common.css, please ?
Do you can edit protected templates too (on local wikis), or just MediaWiki style and script files?
Also is needed to repair template Template Navbox. It was redirected to an elder (also obsolete template), but it would be good if it will work again as primary template with the same code like on enwiki. I have created an temporarily template that invokes module navbox. And after repair of bug in mediawiki.css it shloud work. My explanation it's not very good, i hope you understood me) -// XXN (talk) 12:04, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:XXN. My permission is for a fairly specific job (translating sidebar labels), so I don't think I'm really allowed to do what you ask. My understanding was that any local admin would be able to edit protected interface files. When you say the local sysops are "not receptive" to your proposals, is that because they disagree, or because they don't know how? See if you can convince them, as they are the ones who are supposed to do this. --99of9 (talk) 12:32, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent - I still think a page for anyone unsure how to ask a question is an essential ingredient. Important that we get a comment from Wittylama on this one as well. satusuro 11:17, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:99of9/sandbox2/What but still think a few more clues/guidelines ior even examples of 'ways of asking questions' might help satusuro 11:30, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Satusuro: thanks for your review. Yes, User:Wittylama was at the editathon where we brainstormed this, and he has been helping out with the FAQ page. If you've got anything you want to add to the FAQ, go for it - that is probably easier than trying to explain what you mean to me first. --99of9 (talk) 12:36, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
More power to brainstorming/ editathons/ and innovations such as this one. Please make sure signpost, australians interested in it are kept up to date on this one - it would be very interesting to hear of any results or feeback of any sort. It looks good - well done satusuro 10:09, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
oops one small problem - at categories (which I do a lot) can we get it to ask the question differently? cats are not articles - satusuro 14:41, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Satusuro Good point. Should it be left off entirely for categories? Or what do you want it to say? --99of9 (talk) 21:18, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
imho - left off. cat project tags really shouldnt engage with the reader i dont think... satusuro 14:36, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest I wasn't really aware that category pages had wikiproject tags on their talkpages :-) It makes perfect sense for the template to be excluded from anything except for the mainspace-talk, I'm not sure if that's technically possible. 99, what do you think? In any case, while annoying perhaps, at least the appearance of the 'ask a librarian' link on the category-talk pages is not actually "breaking' something. Wittylama 11:06, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it can be left off. When I get around to it I'll add the code and make the request. --99of9 (talk) 13:34, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - that would be appreciated... satusuro 13:40, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you havent got around to it yet - also project pages need to be null as well please - per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Meetup/Perth#22_March_2014_.E2.80.93_Re_user_group - thanks satusuro 01:43, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. The plan is to limit it to mainspace talk pages. Hopefully that'll exclude everything correctly. --99of9 (talk) 03:09, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That is probably the way to go - thanks for that!! satusuro 03:18, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Main Page appearance: Aleeta curvicosta

[edit]

This is a note to let the main editors of Aleeta curvicosta know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on March 10, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/March 10, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Aleeta curvicosta

Aleeta curvicosta, commonly called the floury baker or floury miller, is a species of cicada native to the eastern coastline of Australia. Described in 1834 by Ernst Friedrich Germar, it is currently the only described species in the genus Aleeta. The floury baker's distinctive appearance and loud call make it popular with children. Both the common and genus name are derived from the white, flour-like filaments covering the adult body. Its body and eyes are generally brown with pale patterns. Its forewings have dark brown patches at the base of two of their apical cells. The female is larger than the male, and both grow larger in regions of higher rainfall. The male has a loud and complex call generated by the frequent buckling of ribbed tymbals and amplified by abdominal air sacs. The floury baker is solitary and occurs in low densities. Individuals emerge from the soil between November and February, and can be seen until May. They inhabit a variety of trees, with a preference for paperbark. The floury baker, which is a relatively poor flier, is preyed upon by cicada killer wasps and a wide variety of birds, and can succumb to a cicada-specific fungal disease. (Full article...)

Sadly this did not pass FAC as there was a lack of interest, so I listed it at Peer Review (meant to tell you about that) which has been helpful. One thing, though, is trying to find a description of the nymph, which I have been unable to achieve. Will have another look but all ideas appreciated...if truly nothing comes up I think is ready to run again and we can ping the folks who commented. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 19:24, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure we can find descriptions of cicada nymphs in general. One specifically for T. saccata will be harder. --99of9 (talk) 04:06, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibomb list subjects

[edit]

How did you create this list? it would help to know as we might be able to discern some notability characteristics from its source.

I have been looking at Google hits using the search string 'site:adb.anu.edu.au AND ("sydney university" OR "university of sydney") AND female' which gives 109 results... and because it is limited to ADB they will likely be notable......

Regards, Ariconte (talk) 23:17, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They are from the alumni office and are mostly winners of awards (OAM / AO /AM / etc). I have a few extra details on each like what degree they did and what year. Having looked at a few of them, many will be difficult to write about with limited sources. So your ADB list would also be useful - can you add it to the bottom of the page (with a column for users to sign up to their choice)? I think the organisers were hoping to concentrate on living subjects, but at this stage let's just use a broad net. --99of9 (talk) 03:03, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a couple into the list.... possibly they should be in a separate table???? Feel free to revert my adds and do a separate table with names taken from ADB.... I have not found a good way to dump the list from Google. I'm busy till Monday afternoon so will wait for your decision, Regards, Ariconte (talk) 07:43, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've made an addition to the main WB page, in response to what happened after the previous Wikibomb (and reiterate that I don't really think bomb is an appropriate name, but that's irrelevant). Everyone must be really clear that a link to a faculty website and a list of publications may not be seen by all as significant coverage in independent reliable sources, as required by WP:GNG. I, personally, don't really understand the intricacies of WP:PROF, but try to err on the side of more references are needed than fewer. The ADB refs are great - they definitely count. But we don't want articles being up for PROD, BLPPROD or AFD in the coming weeks. Good luck! The-Pope (talk) 04:15, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - happy to include that. My suspicion is that most articles will be about famous graduates rather than faculty, but we shall see. I'm going to swat up on WP:PROF before the event :). --99of9 (talk) 04:23, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I like to stick to sportspeople , with the occasional dabble in actors, music and politicians; where the notability rules are just so much clearer in most cases. Academic notability is so subjective. Last time round, the Wikibomb did some pretty good work, but a few articles on borderline notable professors were created, with little or no referencing. If it is going to be a partially guided event, then referencing must be emphasised as being essential, not just a nice to have. All the

This article was speedy deleted.... see: User_talk:Vjcwade. I don't remember the article so can't opine on its quality - only saw the speedy because I had the user page on my watchlist.

This is a fallacy of using the category to track the articles created - because the cat disappears with the article. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 17:23, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why move Wikibomb cat to talk so soon?

[edit]

Seeing as the Wikibomb cat was hidden anyway, why move it to the talk page so soon? It probably make sense to do so at some stage (perhaps a week or a month later), but while the articles are newly subject to the review of the wider Wikipedia community, things like the Related Changes were still usefull. (Luckily we still have the Meetup Related Changes.) Don't change them back now, of course, just noting for future Wikibombs. Mark Hurd (talk) 09:45, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
