You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Michelle Edgina Axille, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. bonadea contributions talk 18:01, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rizky Novalini. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rizky Novalini. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rizky Novalini|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 18:02, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, bonadea

Firstly, I am not getting paid to write this article (I wish). If you have concerns on how my writing sounds like promotion, I would really like to know which part did.

Secondly, I wrote this article because I want to build a wikipedia account of my own. The reason I chose to write about Michelle was that I found news about her regarding the Bucharest Open 2021 and thought wow that's Impressive for a kid that age. Then I looked for her page to learn more about her so I made one. The information I could not find on the internet, I asked her team to provide me with it but I am by no means financially tied to her team.

If you want to see the data I was given, I would gladly email you the file.

Thank you. Let me know if you need me to do something about the page. Rizky Novalini (talk) 07:47, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply. The article Michelle Edgina Axille has already been deleted as unambiguously promotional. A couple of things to keep in mind:
  • Don't move drafts from the draft space to the main encyclopedia space. Instead, submit the draft for review by one of the Articles for Creation reviewers. Creating a new article is one of the hardest things for a new editor to do, and it is generally a good idea to spend some months making edits to a range of existing articles before attempting to create a new article.
  • Don't add any information that hasn't been published in reliable sources. If you receive information from her team which can't be found in published sources, the info cannot be verified by Wikipedia's readers, and verifiability is one of Wikipedia's pillars – it is extremely important, in particular in a biography of a living person. Except in very limited cases, sources should also be secondary: basically, Wikipedia is not really interested in what a person says about themselves, and not at all interested in what their marketing team has to say, but only in what sources unrelated to the subject have decided to publish. Please take a moment to read the information pages I've linked here.
It is possible that the administrator who deleted the article (whose name you will find in the deletion log) might agree to email the text to you, but pages deleted under the "unambiguously promotional" criterion are not restored to Wikipedia. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 09:21, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Michelle Edgina Axille moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Michelle Edgina Axille, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – robertsky (talk) 10:25, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Robertsky!

Thank you for your input on this article. Can you tell me why it does not fit to be diplayed on the mainspace? Maybe I can help and make the improvements you want to see.

I have made this article before, and it got nominated for speedy deletion for promoting the person which I don't understand why I am being judged as so. I rewrote the article, followed the input I got from the speedy deletion, and here I am.

Seriously, I'm confused. I could use some directions. Rizky Novalini (talk) 14:03, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rizky Novalini, at that version which I pulled into the draftspace, it was incomplete, and the structure resembled a partial revision of the deleted version as well (I had dropped by a few times to see if it was completed before it deleted). Having it in the draftspace will allow you to complete the article in peace, since some of the alternatives are another speedy deletion or a deletion discussion, a distraction before you can get the article into shape. – robertsky (talk) 09:35, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Robrtsky, thank you so much, Robertsky! I'll work on it right away. Rizky Novalini (talk) 12:42, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I removed most of the promotional text. Still needs work. David notMD (talk) 14:01, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After first use of full name, all subsequent naming must be only last name. No "Michelle". David notMD (talk) 14:03, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A favor, rejected

[edit]

Based on my 15+ years of Wikipedia editing, I removed a lot of the promotional wording, etc. I did this as a favor, to improve the likelihood that the draft could be approved. You reverted everything, returning the draft to a version that if submitted as is, will either be Declined, or Rejected as overly promotional. I suggest you revert your last edit. The draft will still need work. Or not, and it is hopeless. I have no intention of trying to help again. David notMD (talk) 14:13, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. Comments on drafts vanish when the drafts are accepted as articles. David notMD (talk) 14:23, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm terribly sorry. THank you for your help, I have edited the draft to include your edits.
David notMD I was going to say, rather than an outright rejection of your help, this looks like they just didn't know what to really make of the edit conflict message and decided to just ignore it – which, while not ideal, is not something I'd hold against a new user very strongly. Hi, Bonadea

Thank you for the input. It is greatly appreciated and I have made improvements according to your comment on this article.

However, I will have to disagree with you on one part of your comment.

First is the "limited training due to the pandemic" part. It's the main point of the third paragraph of the article I cited. The limitations were the operational hours and number of skaters allowed in the rink due to the pandemic.

I also would like to apologize for having my sources mixed up. I cited the wrong article for the "Personal Life" section.

All in all, thank you so much for helping me with this. Rizky Novalini (talk) 17:12, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the reliability of the sources used. The sources are from local news media, skating event organizers, online databases related to figure skating, and one from official Indonesian government agency website.

I tried searching around for more info on her but news and actual event results are the best, most reliable I could find. Rizky Novalini (talk) 17:20, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Images on Draft:Michelle Edgina Axille

[edit]

Hi, while reviewing the Draft:Michelle Edgina Axille, I noticed that all the images have been uploaded as your 'own work'. This creates one of two problems:

  1. Either they really are your work, in which case you almost certainly have some sort of an external relationship with the article subject, because how else did you happen to be at the meeting with the president? (I will post a separate message below which explains conflict of interest (COI), and how to deal with it.)
  2. Or you haven't actually taken those pictures, in which case they may constitute a copyright violation, and in any case you shouldn't then have uploaded them as your 'own work'.

Would you care to offer any explanation, please, so that we can resolve this matter? Thanks, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:58, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Hi again — I noticed you deleted the images from the article draft; just to clarify, I wasn't asking you to do that, I was asking you to explain their provenance. Thanks, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:43, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, DoubleGrazing. I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here and it's definitely on my part. I have mentioned before when there was a notification on a copyright violation and COI on a photo I used (I think it was back in June), that I have communicated my intentions of creating a wiki page on Michelle Axille with her team, which I'm not entirely sure what his position is. All I know is that he gave me permission to use her photos. I think it was back in June that I decided to create an article on Michelle Axille, as she recently won something in a less popular sport here in Indonesia, and got some spotlight in the mainstream media, which could be a good start for my contributions to Wikipedia. However, I am in no way benefiting, other than having something to do during my free time instead of spending it all on video games. I hope that clears out the COI issue. Now for the photos, I know those are not mine, I was only given permission to use it, and I could not find a way to use them for the wiki page other than uploading it to Wikimedia. I also could not find that the photos have been uploaded and follow the regulations prior to that. If turns out I can not use the pictures, I have no problem removing them, which is why I did before explaining this to you, just in case I can not. If the photos need to be deleted from the Commons, I would comply. For the sources I cited, I found them all online, some from media outlets and others from official websites of the competition's organizers. There's not much else to be found other than redundant sources, because, well, as you said she's not quite Sonja Henie yet. For the wording and the "sounding like an advertisement or fan page" that is entirely on me, I apologize, and I'm willing to learn. Thank you for caring and helping me with this.
