Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Maryland

[edit]

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Maryland might be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. I have started a discussion on the projects talk page soliciting the opinions of the members of the project if this project would be interested in being supported by WikiProject United States. Please feel free to comment on your opinions about this suggestion. --Kumioko (talk) 03:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

veig que ajudes a expandir la cultura catalana per aquesta viquipèdia, et recomanaria que agafessis els articles de qualitat que aquí no tenen, ja que són una bona mostra del que podem fer. Els topònims són també un camp on fer molta feina, gràcies! (barcelona at ca-wiki)--217.125.235.235 (talk) 15:42, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for edits on La Seu! I'm not 100% convinced by Saragossa in modern usage, but see Talk:Battle of Saragossa which I just restored. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Catalan culture challenge

[edit]

I've seen on your userpage that you speak Catalan: From March 16 to April 15 we will be organising the Catalan Culture Challenge, a Wikipedia editing contest in which victory will go to those who start and improve the greatest number of articles about 50 key figures of Catalan culture. You can take part by creating or expanding articles on these people in your native language (or any other one you speak). We look forward to seeing you! Maryland revert

[edit]

I thought about leaving the statement, and I'll leave it...hopefully a U Maryland editor will remember to downgrade if ACC schools surpass their record now that MD is in the Big 10. I thought it was easier to take it out.....Pvmoutside (talk) 13:04, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Maryland Rivalry

[edit]

Hi Alexandrecomas,

We seem to have conflicts on the topic of Penn State and Maryland being rivals so I figured that I would start a user talk. At this point, I feel like it isn't a rivalry yet and most if not all Penn Staters agree that Maryland isn't our rival, myself included. In fact, the only truly hardcore rivalry we have is with the University of Pittsburgh. At this point, I feel like it would be more appropriate to portray it as more of a speculative thing like the whole Rutgers situation rather than coming out and just blatantly saying that it is a rivalry. You discuss talking about things from a neutral point of view but the fact of the matter is that it's Maryland's opinion that Penn State is their rival and it's Penn State's opinion that Maryland is not so, as I mentioned, if we want to keep it truly neutral and just keep the page as factual as possible, we should hold off on listing Penn State under the "Rivals" section under the infobox and instead explore the possibility of creating a subheading in the actual article that says "Possible Rivalry With Penn State" until such a time that it develops into an actual rivalry if that happens. I'm not saying that it isn't a possibility, but at this point it is not a rivalry. Rivalries are founded upon respect (yes, there is the hate factor there) but I feel like Penn State doesn't really respect Maryland given the fact that the overall record between the two teams is... 35-2-1 I believe? Right now it seems more like a situation where it is just two teams that play each other frequently. If Maryland can show that it can compete and win more than just 2 games in a series, it may develop into an actual rivalry though, I'm not denying that. Maryland is a good school academically and athletically and everybody would agree that Maryland is a more fitting rival than Rutgers. But we need to let a rivalry actually develop if there is one. All we've been seeing is the Maryland team being disrespectful to PSU on our home turf and Maryland's coach stating that Penn State is his biggest rival while James Franklin said he didn't view it as such. It needs to go both ways before it can be considered such and it needs time to actually develop.

If you disagree with this at all or don't agree with my suggestions regarding the article, feel free to respond to this and I will discuss it further with you. Or if I what I wrote was confusing and incoherent, feel free to indicate that as well in your response and I will try to expand upon what I'm trying to say. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sources discussing the "rivalry" (if it does indeed exist at this point):

http://www.eveningsun.com/sports/ci_28561897/commentary-penn-state-vs-maryland-matchup-is-no

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/terrapins-insider/wp/2015/07/31/james-franklin-penn-state-players-brush-off-potential-rivalry-with-maryland/

Keep in mind that you will also be able to find articles that are biased towards Maryland's point of view on the situation which proves that the whole rivalry thing is just a matter of opinion at this point and not an actual fact of the matter...yet. It could happen but it isn't a rivalry yet. As I mentioned before, James Franklin and the PSU football team balked at the fact that people are trying to call Maryland a rivalry. If only one side views it as such, it isn't quite there yet. 75.97.115.25 (talk) 09:42, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Valencian Community. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Elizium23 (talk) 02:36, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sagrera railway station

[edit]

You haven't even read through the article, have you? Your edits on this artcicle (Sagrera railway station) because of your claims that line 1 of the Barcelona Metro serves the station are totally nonsense. The station in question is still under construction and does NOT appear on the TMB metro map (it does on the ATM map as "Sagrera | TAV", together with the rest of line 9 stations under construction or planned). The future Sagrera station will be served by lines 4 and 9/10 of the Barcelona Metro, but not line 1 (a little amount of Internet research on the topic will be enough to prove that). I guess you are confusing it with La Sagrera-Meridiana station (simply known as "La Sagrera" for TMB), and which is served by lines 1, 5 and 9/10 of the Barcelona Metro. Please do not keep on reversing my edits. Thank you. Mllturro (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Sherwood Syndrome

[edit]

Hello, Alexandrecomas,

Thank you for creating Sherwood Syndrome.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thank you for your new article on the Sherwood Syndrome. Note that it is currently an "Orphan" meaning that no other Wikipedia articles link TO it. This makes the article tough to find for interested readers. See WP:DE-ORPHAN for pointers.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
