Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Sambit Patra, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 06:49, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on National Council of Hindu Temples requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Control copyright icon Hello Amitized, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Institute of Management Accountants and Education in India have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:16, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions alert for India, Pakistan and Afghanistan

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Note that North East Delhi riots is one of the many articles covered by these sanctions. Doug Weller talk 17:51, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Ashwini Kumar Upadhaya

[edit]

Hello Amitized,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ashwini Kumar Upadhaya for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Notice

The article Nilesh Nilkanth Oak has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks notability. Note that the "nominated for the Lakatos Award" claims are pure puffery, as anyone can "nominate" any book for the award[1], it's not as if the book made a shortlist of 5 or so nominees.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nilesh Nilkanth Oak moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Nilesh Nilkanth Oak, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. NPOV and reliable sources

[edit]

I've removed some parts of your recent addition to RSS. Text like The RSS encourages thinking and sharing of thoughts is not only POV but also quite unencyclopedic in nature. The source you used had nothing at all to support such additions. Hemantha (talk) 09:15, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, I went about in writing flow. Will be careful in the future. Amitized (talk) 09:55, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To illustrate the problem of using sub-standard sources, see your edits to multiple articles where you added text explicitly promoting some completely non-notable movie. With WP:AGF, I can see how you might've thought it appropriate when you read it in news and went about adding it to different articles you thought relevant, but that kind of writing and the use of such sources gives the appearance of WP:UPE and/or WP:COI. Hemantha (talk) 03:49, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I get it though the movie with several notable artists being a part of it made me think it would be relevant in those encyclopedic contexts. Amitized (talk) 12:40, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please go through the blue links in the above notice and read them carefully. In this edit, you added text that "the numbers have doubled after 2014 election of Narendra Modi". But News18 said only that "Subscription Nearly Doubles", while HT gave accurate numbers, showing a 40%-65% growth (as a slight aside, note how unreliable News18 is). Please exercise more care to not introduce such exaggerations or inaccuracies anywhere in Wikipedia, but especially so in the dispute-prone articles you've chosen to edit. Hemantha (talk) 13:22, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I found the second source later and while I added the citation, missed out on editing the numbers. Amitized (talk) 04:04, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
