Hi. In Jimmie Rodgers (country singer), you recently added links to the disambiguation pages Jimmy Rodgers, Jimmie Rogers and James Rogers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Binders full of women has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks substantial coverage as a meme. Too soon.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Peggy Lee may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

As this essay was mostly written by English editor User:ThatPeskyCommoner (sadly no longer editing), it should be left in British English. I've reverted to "burgled" and "burnt". PamD 17:29, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page's subject could be sufficiently explained within the article 2017 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act replacement proposals rather than requiring its own article. I propose transforming this page into a redirect, and transferring applicable content to the article 2017 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act replacement proposals SecretName101 (talk) 22:27, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

STS, copy/paste moves

[edit]

Hi there,

I noticed you copy/pasted text at Science, technology and society to Science, technology, and society. I've undone this for two reasons:

The big thing is that to move a page, you cannot just copy/paste text. Every page has an edit history, and copy/pasting text effectively removes all of it (or rather, leaves it behind and starts a new one). There is a special function for moving. If you're using the default settings, see the tabs at the top, under "more", there is an option to move. That will move the page and all of the edits in the history of the page to the new location. A related issue is attribution -- while all content on Wikipedia is free to copy, use, modify, etc. it is copyrighted under a license that requires attribution to the editors who have worked on a page. For this reason, copying within Wikipedia requires attribution. More information on how to move a page here: Wikipedia:Moving a page. More information about copying within Wikipedia here: Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

The other thing is that changing a page's title is typically a big deal and there needs to be a good reason for doing so. Adding an Oxford comma because of personal preference is only very rarely ok anywhere on Wikipedia (likewise removing one just due to personal preference), and the only reason to move a page based on such a comma would be if the comma is part of a proper noun. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 21:17, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Mexican states by population 2013.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
