Joe Tracz moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Joe Tracz, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. License tagging for File:JoeTracz.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:JoeTracz.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:30, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Dwight Howard appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Also, deals cannot be completed until at the earliest July 6, after the July moratorium.Bagumba (talk) 03:04, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in DeMarcus Cousins, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Specifically per MOS:LQ, punctuation is generally placed outside of quotes.Bagumba (talk) 18:52, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Jabari Parker. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. —Bagumba (talk) 19:12, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{Reply to|Bagumba}} There were plenty of sources showing that the signing was made official. Perhaps you should have looked them up. I do ask that you remove this warning since the pretense is a simple misunderstanding and is certainly an overreaction. Just because I did not follow the reported signing with a link does not necessarily mean it’s false or unsourced. Take care. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-hawks-reach-deal-jabari-174030799.html

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Feature (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Joe Tracz, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:33, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Ayyydoc, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Chris Paul have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:47, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent addition at James Harden was a close paraphrase of the tweet from Michael Gallagher. You may be blocked for copyright violations if this happens again.—Bagumba (talk) 12:04, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Joe Tracz

[edit]

Hello, Ayyydoc. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Joe Tracz".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CptViraj (📧) 12:50, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to 10 Greatest Coaches in NBA history has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Thanks for uploading File:Salvia palth - melanchole.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Melanchole requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article does not exist or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Thank you for uploading File:Kevin Porter 49165585218 71a2b47049 c.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Hallo, Thank you for creating Bald Hill (Hudson Highlands). When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie Bald Hill), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find the new article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one.

Please also note that {{stub}} goes at the very bottom of the stub, not the top - see WP:ORDER.

Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 07:14, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve 2019 PRO Chess League Season

[edit]

Hello, Ayyydoc,

Thank you for creating 2019 PRO Chess League Season.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article is missing content about this chess season.
This article is missing prose, which means it fails notability for sports seasons. League and Division season articles should consist mainly of well-sourced prose, not just statistics and lists of players. Wikipedia is not a stats directory. See WP:NSEASONS for guidance. Failing this notability guide, this article may be redirected to the main League or Division page. An example is LSU Tigers football Another excellent example is 2022–23 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

A tag has been placed on List of television shows considered the best requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. @CollectiveSolidarity: thank you so much !!!! one question: how do i notify others that it is ready for publishing ? i would rather have another person check it out (like a peer review) in case i screw up something. all the best !! Ayyydoc (talk) 03:42, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ayyydoc take a look at Articles for creation. Articles submitted there are either accepted or declined for mainspace by volunteer participants. Usually newer editors are the ones who do most of the article submissions, but anyone can submit an article if they want it to be checked. Ablution (song) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ablution (song), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. sweet, thank you so much !!!! @Bruxton Ayyydoc (talk) 04:10, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Damar Hamlin

[edit]

Hey, Ayyydoc. I just wanted to explain that I saw your edits and got concerned that they could have WP:BLP issues with regards to his family, especially since it looks like they are not well known. If you do want to still add it to the article, then please discuss it first on the talk page before re-adding it. --Super Goku V (talk) 02:32, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

good thinking. thank you for letting me know :) @Super Goku V Ayyydoc (talk) 04:41, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Ablution (song)

[edit]
