Hello Brrryce. I see that you're trying to file a case under MBisanz's recall formula. Can you be more specific as to which article you think was incorrectly deleted? EdJohnston (talk) 02:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. If you want to start a proper case, you need to follow the steps for the filer that are listed at User:MBisanz/Recall#Procedure. This includes your selecting a clerk for the recall, and notifying that clerk of your decision. EdJohnston (talk) 15:53, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Brrryce - I received your note, and am willing to act as clerk in this case. Before I get the ball rolling, however, I need to ask if you're certain that you want to do this on the basis of a single deletion. I see you've already brought it to deletion review, where the community seems to be divided. In my view, your recall attempt is unlikely to succeed; traditionally, recall is reserved for serious abuse of administrative tools, not a single controversial deletion. It is up to you whether or not you want to proceed, and if you do I will clerk the process as required, but I wanted to make sure that you understood that this would be an unusual application of recall before I get the ball rolling. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 17:56, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sarcasticidealist - No, I'm comfortable with this. So, I would like to proceed. My basis for doing so, besides my belief that this was deleted without due consideration, is the body of work on Wiki contributed by mbisanz. I am particularly nonplussed by his bowling alley entry. If my entry is to be deleted, I want it deleted honestly and not based on the opinion of some guy who feels a bowling alley trumps an entire community of African Americans. Wiki has a terrible reputation among the African American people I know and this may be part of the reason. I want to understand this process and see what biases exist. So, game on.Brrryce (talk) 16:22, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Jae Bryson

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Jae Bryson meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jae Bryson. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Prodego talk 17:40, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this really needed?

[edit]

Would you consider going to User talk:MBisanz/Recall and calling this off? It is pretty clear that the admin did nothing wrong and it would be nice to put an end to it instead of letting it sit out the 2 days. Chillum 22:34, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

African Americans in Davenport, Iowa DRV discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2009 March 3

[edit]

Please take a look at this comment of mine at the deletion review discussion. [1] I think the new information I presented allows for reviving the article even if it is deleted, although if further comments in that deletion review discussion say otherwise, it would need even more sourcing. I don't know if you live in or near Davenport, but local histories and resources either in the library or at the local history museum should be more than adequate to create an AfD-proof article. Also, there's a civil rights tour apparently being organized, and the group doing that should have access to reliable sources. If you'd rather write a new one or add the sources I've provided into the old one, I'm more than happy to leave that to you, otherwise I think I may do it. -- Noroton (talk) 22:08, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
