Lulu Wang (filmmaker)

[edit]

Major revisions necessary.

  • You have chosen an interesting filmmaker! Good job integrating links to other Wikipedia pages into your prose. However, major revisions are necessary before you move this content to mainspace.
  • The main thing is that you currently have only 150 words and you will need to add at least 500 words of prose.
  • The other big thing is that you have to add at least three reliable and independent secondary sources. Right now you only have one. (The Legal REEL Productions website is not independent.) You need to add at least two more sources. Use the library’s subscription databases. If you can’t find enough new information, you will have to choose another filmmaker.
  • The footnote links should always go after the period or other punctuation mark.

Peer Review

[edit]

Hi,

Your wiki page is really well thought out and I like that it covers a wide range of information. It's also super impressive that you already have links to other wiki pages because I haven't gotten to that step in my process yet! I just have a few suggestions about how it can be improved. The first thing I thought of was that this article would be so much stronger if some of the information were more fleshed out in its explanation. Sometimes, such as in the story about how she went to Ikea and met a producer and they then made a movie together, I found that we had a point A and a point B in the story but there was nothing in between that told me how they got from meeting at Ikea to suddenly having an idea to make a film. Did something in that Ikea trip give them the idea? What idea did they have? Why was this specific trip so significant?

I also think this article would benefit from a list of Wang's awards. They are mentioned in the "career" section of the article but I think it would be interesting and helpful for readers if they were all laid out.

On that note, I also think it would be helpful if Lulu Wang's filmography was in a chart rather than just a list. I think that the chart layout would lay the information out in a more clear way especially since for some she has more than one role than just being the director.

Other than these small changes I thought this was really well done!
