Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Civ DC. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Again, welcome! Hiàn (talk) 03:53, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Civ,

I've undone your edit here, which added a non-free image to the article. In brief, a non-free image is one that is copyrighted (i.e. not in the public domain) and not released under a free licence; by default, that includes almost all images on the internet. Wikipedia's policies allow non-free images and other media in certain limited situations under the American doctrine of fair use; the image you added to the article meets Wikipedia's policies for use in the Laurence Decore article, but not in the 1993 Alberta general election article. Wikipedia's policies on non-free content are admittedly complicated, and are summarized at WP:NFC; if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Steve Smith (talk) 04:02, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
