Hi Dave

[edit]

Actually, I should get your name correct, are you C.N.C. Davell C? Or how should I call you.

People don't normally use titles at Wiki, and I am a student for a PhD, not a doctor yet. Alastair, or even AL is the best way to call me.

If you have time to share your thoughts with us re Bible as religious writings or not, I think that would be very helpful.

For your thoughts to be included at Wiki, they really need to be phrasing thoughts already published by other people. If you can mention the names of books that make the points you want to make, that will help other editors. Wiki is about summarizing what is published on various subjects in a balanced and accurate way. I suspect you can help us with ideas that we have not considered carefully enough and need to research more. I hope you can help us.

Wiki can be frustrating, an editor can write a lot and argue well and still no text goes to the page. There are good reasons for this, but debate is thought provoking and helpful.

Please continue to ask for help at my user talk page any time.

All the best. Alastair Haines 00:16, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We want your thoughts, they are not "dumb". The thread you started is not closed until people stop commenting on it. I think it has started a good discussion already. Your views may not be as rare as you think. I, for one, know many writers who do not consider the Bible to be religious, but it depends what people mean by religion, of course.

Feel free to put text or a link at my User talk, and we can copy it to the most appropriate place. You can also put text in your own space here.

Cheers. Alastair Haines 00:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
