December

Eli Lake: That wasn't vandalism. The Lake page is garbage, the result of years of struggles between editors who want to bash Lake and those who want to fluff of Lake's reputation. None of it shows a neutral point of view, and most of it is trivia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.86.135.251 (talk) 06:07, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

72.86.135.251 You can't just remove almost everything written on an article. I won't let you. DaviesBridge Chat 06:15, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If it's garbage, why keep it? That's idiotic. I don't know who you are that you think you're the arbiter of what does/doesn't merit inclusion; but you didn't make any kind of judgment based on merit, you just made a knee jerk reaction. I spent considerable time looking into what was included and why; then I consulted others asking somebody else to edit the garbage out; then I was told that I should do it myself. Which I do. And you show up making insulting comments because I bothered to take out the trash.05:01, 12 December 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.86.136.23 (talk)
72.86.136.23 Please read WP:CON. DaviesBridge Chat 12:24, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please read what I said. You didn't make a judgment based on merits, you just reverted as a knee jerk reaction...in defense of garbage that was cobbled together not out of "consensus", but among people edit warring over Lake' reputation. I have wasted far more time on Lake's page than it deserves. If you want to leave it the mess that it is, go ahead, you win, hurray for garbage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.86.134.243 (talk) 04:54, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Are you engaging in undisclosed paid editing?

[edit]
Information icon

Hello DaviesBridge. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Victor Ngumah, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:DaviesBridge. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=DaviesBridge|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. I have left this message because your edit pattern and the contents of the non notable promotional named article are consistent with editors engaging in undisclosed paid editing.
