Talk:Universe

[edit]

Hi, I,m moving your essay here. Talk pages are for discussing improvements to the article, you need to have references to support your comments if they are to remain. What follows is your speculation and original research. Thank you, Vsmith (talk) 23:39, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brainwashing? & age of the universe/limited perspectives

[edit]

I have contributed to this talk page July 26 2009, my discussion was removed, it wasn't even talked about it was just blatantly removed without anyone explaining the reasons why it was inappropriate in their opinion for the talk page. This is not only rude and uncivilized, but carries the appearance of brainwashing and mind control, let people see only what you want them to think sort of thing. I asked questions which are logical and rational questions and instead of leaving it here to think about and get intellectual answers, it was removed. So I will re-post non-verbatim, If you have an issue with my post I would appreciate you bring it up with me and explain to me why it is invalid or does not belong here in the talk section. Thank you.

Universe Age, and infinite or finite?/expansion
The age of the universe is impossible to determine, The big bang simply resides within the universe, the big bang is not the universe itself, for this reason it is also absurd to say that the universe is expanding. There is no way humanly possible to determine that the entire universe is expanding, it may just be our section of the universe. Drop a cookie crumb into some water and the crumbs expand, but the water sits in the cup. The cookie crumbs are not the universe.
For all we know there may be billions of other big bangs occurring as we speak, out of our range of sight within the universe.
also, it would seem logical and rational to assume the universe is infinite. There is no way for something to exist if there is nothingness surrounding it, nothingness cannot exist because that is the very nature of the concept of nothingness, so if there is nothingness surrounding something(matter) that is a chaotic idea which cannot be rationalized.

Nothingness does not exist, it has never been discovered because it is an irrational concept. Why do scientists tend to make up ideas which cannot be proven, not only can they not be proved but they are also illogical and very linear narrow-minded ideas, are they trying to compete with religions on how absurd they can sound making statements that cannot be proved or reasoned with logic? Or are they really so narrow minded?

Or am I missing something, I would love someone to explain if so. Thanks!

According to the edit summary (the explanation for which you asked), it was removed because it is inappropriate for the talk page. This page is for discussing proposed changes to the article. If you have sourced information that you would like to add, then please feel free to add it. However, your opinion on the age of the universe cannot be added. Please see WP:NOTFORUM for a more thorough explanation. Also, please do not make accusations of brain-washing or mind-control. This falls under the assumption of good-faith and general civility. Thank you. Wperdue (talk)

{{unblock|I am not sure if I am blocked, I was never notified, however, when I attempt to post on an admin's talk page, edit or add any information it never shows up on the page. It shows up in history, but not when I refresh.}}

  • You aren't blocked, nor have you ever been. If a change shows up in the article history, but doesn't show up on your browser, it's probably because the servers are lagging (tech talk; ask for an explanation if you need one.) Nothing you can fix or need to fix, though. If you wait a while the changes will show up; and you can see that they're there by displaying the most recent version in the history. --jpgordon::==( o ) 02:08, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request

[edit]

{{helpme}} My edits do not appear to be working for some reason, it all says it goes through but when I refresh it is blank. Any ideas? :)

As far as I can see, your edits are working fine. I think, probably, you're referring to the edit to Talk:Universe, which was undone shortly after it was made - please see this link, and note the edit summary giving their reason.  Chzz  ►  01:14, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
