Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of winners and shortlisted authors of the Booker Prize for Fiction, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Lighthouse (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ITN Ready

Did you even read;; what was said? The Ready tag if NOT for consensus (whcih is what the posting admin decides), ready is for the necessary update, which has been discussed on ITNC before.(Lihaas (talk) 13:02, 19 September 2012 (UTC)).

Sixth Periodic Review

No worries. Looks like you've done a fine job, but I thought a couple things needed cleaning up, especially in regards to verbal tense, which can easily be forgotten when working alone on an article. mgSH 20:46, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Eurovision Song Contest 1958

Is there any reason why you keep doing this and not stating a reason for it in your edit summary to validate why you are removing content from an article? The information you are removing has been in the article for a long time, and was moved to the new section as part of the improved layout structure which was agreed upon by consensus at WT:ESC. The details are also relevant to that particular article and are also referenced. If there are no valid reasons for its removal, then I kindly request that you revert your actions, and restore the content. Thank you. WesleyMouse 12:47, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

ITN "vandalism"

the "vandalism" is yours because youre not allowed to tinker with other peoples' comments as you did mine by blindly removing. And further the ready tag was not explained anywhere. It is not ready without sources! As for the includeonly tag, ive no idea how that got removed(Lihaas (talk) 19:55, 3 October 2012 (UTC)).

Cardiff South and Penarth and Cardiff South and Penarth By Election

Ooops! Sorry we clashed editing the same item. I was having trouble getting the colour of the Green candidate to show up properly so am more than happy for you to sort it. On the verification of the candidate - this comes from the local newspaper the Penarth Times of today Oct 4 2012. I will append a reference asap Are you happy by the way about the order in which the candidates for the by-election are listed? I am not sure myself what the Wikipedia precedent is for this. Green Party

Thanks for that Doktorbuk. I had made the mistake of citing the generic "Green party" rather than the UK one. Ah well, live and learn! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newsnet (talkcontribs) 12:30, 4 October 2012 (UTC) Ele

Cardiff South and Penarth By Election: Top Right Hand Box

Hi Doktorbuk. Just wondering if you feel it would be possible to update the top right hand box on this page in order to include more candidates than just the first three to be selected. Of course they are still technically only prospective candidates as we are still waiting for an Alun Michael resignation and for the by-election date to be announced. Best Regards and thanks again for your advice earlier today. Newsnet (talk) 20:02, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

-OK Thanks. I didn't know that. It really would be useful if it was all written down somewhere! Newsnet (talk) 08:15, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

House of Commons

Hi. Can you, as requested and as per normal WP practice, use the talk page to discuss contested issues, rather than repeatedly reverting while marking those edits as minor and citing random - and sometimes non-functional - weblinks in edit summaries as supposed "evidence" in favour of your random assertions? Hey Doktorbuk, would you consider adding all the Sky-related channel pages at Category:Lists of television channels by content to your AfD, as they are just as relevant? -- Wikipedical (talk) 03:07, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

CARDIFF SOUTH AND PENARTH BY ELECTION - PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATE PROFILES

Hi Doktorbuk I wonder whether you feel it would be worth fleshing-out the one line profiles of the candidates with just one extra sentence - specifically in the cases where the existing profile is a bit sparse? For example Stephen Doughty was a Special Advisor to Douglas Alexander (not for long though! - the circumstances of his depature are unclear) and then got a job as Head of Oxfam in Wales.

Anyway in the interests of consistency I won't do anything unless I hear back from you

Cheers for now Newsnet (talk) 18:21, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Channel lineups AFD

Hello, Doktorbuk. I am contacting you because you recently left a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2nd bundle of channel lineups. I have just created another AfD, which also looks at articles with lists of channels. If you are interested, you can leave a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/3rd bundle of channel lineups. Thanks. -- Wikipedical (talk) 03:07, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

More AfD's to consider

Hi there. I have noticed you and a number of editors have been going all out against lists of channel articles and other related media articles, whilst I don't wish to clog up the AfD's with unrelated cruft, you may wish to also consider List of radio stations in the United Kingdom, Category:DAB ensemble and all related media articles. Even if said actions pretty much wipe out 95% of my work for Wikipedia. Might also wish to disband the related UK media WikiProjects should the AfD's go further and start deleting channel articles en-masse too. --tgheretford (talk) 23:22, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

List of Net channels AFD

Hiya, Doktorbuk. I am contacting you because you recently left a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/3rd bundle of channel lineups. I have just created another AfD, nominating List of Net channels for deletion. If you are interested, you can leave a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Net channels. Thanks. -- Wikipedical (talk) 03:18, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

DAB plexes

Hello. I see Bauer Central Lancashire etc have now gone, per AFD. Do you think we should then redirect ones owned by other companies, such as NOW Leicester to their respective parent company's article as well? Also, there is the issue of Template:Navbox:Digital radio in the United Kingdom. We should probably remove the "local multiplexes" section of this outright. Morwen (Talk) 16:18, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Right, I've done the NOW ones. Apart, funnily enough, from NOW Leicester because it was owned by a consortium. I don't know what to do about that. Also, we probably need articles about MuxCo, CE Digital and MXR to redirect to.
By the way, you obviously are thinking similarly to me here, and perhaps this has been expressed already, but I've had a thought about distinguishing directory information from non-directory encyclopedic content, and developing a new test for that. Basically, if an article is only about the current status of things and changes on a regular basis, and people just update it rather than archiving the historic information, then it's probably a directory or a programme guide. For example: I noticed when scouting placed to merge NOW Leicester to that BBC Radio Leicester has a list of current programmes on that station. Now, I can see a case be made that an article about the evolution of the schedule might be encyclopedic - just marginally - we have similar information about US network television schedule for historic years, for example - but that that's not what it's trying to be, is it? This could potentially apply to a lot of indiscriminate collections of information. (including, oddly, current league tables.)
I wonder if there's a WP namespace policy or essay about this idea already. It's sort of a development of WP:RECENT - why should the status now be particularly more interesting than that of any particular day in history? Morwen (Talk) 17:36, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
For your information, the Digital Radio in the United Kingdom navigation box is now nominated for merging with the Media in the United Kingdom. Every article from Category:DAB ensemble (including BBC National DAB and Digital One) are now tagged for notability (although WP:NOTDIR still applies). Should all those articles be merged/deleted (excluding St.GIGA which shouldn't be there and the DAB ensemble article which needs separate attention) then the category itself can go to WP:CFD or WP:C1 after four days. --tgheretford (talk) 23:46, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
I don't know if we set a !precedent for the national ones, so I didn't take those out of the template, but they seem to be the basic, directory-style stuff as the others. Funnily, 4 Digital Group absolutely meets WP:GNG even though - in fact because - it will never launch! Morwen (Talk) 23:52, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
I think the difference with the 4Digital Group article is that it a) contains none of the business listing concerns Doktorbuk mentioned in the AfD above and b) it has several references from newspapers as Channel 4's exit from DAB was covered from the mainstream press - indeed, debate from that article spawned the good article Digital radio in the United Kingdom. I don't think the same can be mentioned regarding the existing national ensembles, plus the whole concern around the above mentioned AfD will apply to the national ensemble articles. --tgheretford (talk) 23:58, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks; I think that text is useful and can be replicated on other forthcoming by-election pages. However, I was thinking of something visible to the reader: see Template_talk:Infobox_election#Additional_candidates for my thoughts. Bondegezou (talk) 14:27, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Cardiff South and Penarth

Hello Doctorb: I thought I'd just ask you about your plans with regard to the Cardiff South and Penarth UK Constituency entry and the Cardiff South and Penarth by election entry. Clearly both entries will need updating after 15 November (polling day). Will you be updating either or both entries? I'm quite happy to lend a hand if you wish. Perhaps I could also ask whether the two entries ought to be merged - unless it's Wikipedia policy to keep a separate "by election" site going. I'll wait to hear from you.
